Position Overview:

Neal R. Gross and Company is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented contract-based Meeting Summary Writer with a background in technical writing, journalism, copy editing, grant writing, or related fields. The ideal candidate will be responsible for summarizing complex discussions into clear, concise, and detailed narrative statements. This is a freelance, per-project role, offering flexibility to work remotely. Standard turnaround times are between 3 and 7 business days dependent on the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review audio recordings and/or transcripts of meetings to create comprehensive summaries.
  • Distill large volumes of information into clear, accurate, and structured narrative formats.
  • Perform quality control (QC) checks on documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to NRGCO standards and exemplar files.
  • Effectively communicate complex ideas while maintaining clarity and precision in writing.

Time Commitment: This role is very flexible and we are looking to hire a variety of people that are able to do anywhere from one summary every month or two, to multiple summaries a month. Turnaround times are between 3 and 7 business days dependent on the project, and as long as you submit the summary by the deadline, you can work whatever hours are most convenient for you.

Location: This is a FULLY REMOTE position! However, the person must be living in the United States.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with strong attention to grammar and punctuation.
  • Ability to summarize extensive information clearly and succinctly.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant writing and editing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Experience summarizing technical or specialized content is highly preferred.
