The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Office of Parking and Transportation Services strives to provide students, faculty, staff, and visitors with the best possible parking and transportation experience. The Office of Parking and Transportation Services is currently seeking a Parking Facilities Supervisor to join their team.

Primary Duties

  • Supervise team of Lead Parking Facilities Specialists. Approve scheduling of Ambassadors; develop schedule for Leads and submit overall schedule to Manager for final approval.
  • Coordinate efforts to maintain and improve the operational systems, processes, and policies in support of Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) mission. Provide both technical and administrative support.
  • Coordinate with Public Safety to maintain garage safety and compliance with parking regulations and policies.
  • Prepare periodic reports, manage data collection for events, keep records on program activities, progress, status, or other special reports for management.
  • Resolve concerns presented by Ambassadors, escalates any high-level concerns to leadership. Assist in brainstorming solutions.
  • Inspect facilities on a routine basis to ensure that all facilities and systems are functioning and available for patron use.
  • Coordinate UMB and parking related training for parking staff. Partner with campus departments in order to schedule.
  • Enforce PTS parking policies and procedures. Identify opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Provide coverage for Leads as necessary. Assist customers with on-site issues such as battery jumps. lockouts and flat tires.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree.

Experience: Three (3) years of experience in operating corporate, commercial or university parking and transportation programs.

Supervisory Experience: Two (2) years of work coordination, training or direct supervision.

Certification/Licensure: N/A

Other: Related experience may substitute for education. Clery Act designated job as campus security authorities (CSA) member and will comply with Clery Act requirements.

Knowledge of position requirements. Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently. HIRING RANGE: $59,000 - $65,000 per year (Commensurate with education and experience)
