We are looking for an ambitious & startup-minded person who wants to be a part of establishing and developing the talent acquisition function within Kilroy. Our ideal candidate is a flexible recruiter who is excited to manage all facets of search and recruitment for a company that’s redefining places for new work. Reporting to the Head of People, you will define, as well as execute, Kilroy’s talent acquisition strategy and drive an exceptional candidate experience as you discover new talent for Kilroy Realty. You will partner closely with Kilroy’s leadership to translate business objectives into talent acquisition imperatives and advise them on talent acquisition best practices.

Opportunity Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience, with at least 2 years in commercial real estate.
  • Proven experience in both an executive retained search and an in-house corporate recruiting program within a public company.
  • Understanding of long-term incentives, including Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
  • Leadership presence and credibility to interact with all hiring leaders including Kilroy’s C-level executives.
  • Track record of success leading programmatic recruiting efforts.
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship management skills; driven yet diplomatic and tactful.
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), along with strong influencing and negotiation abilities.
  • Impeccable assessment and interviewing skills, with a strong command of assessment and selection methodologies, instruments, and processes.
  • Ability to effectively manage change and shift gears quickly and comfortably.
  • Lives and breathes for the hunt and knows the art of the close.
  • Shows accountability and ownership by measuring performance via metrics and market intelligence.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Accountable for leading the organization’s efforts to attract and hire top talent.
  • Oversee the entirety of Kilroy’s talent acquisition function, including in-house and retained search recruiting efforts, employer branding, talent intelligence, process facilitation and coordination and administration.
  • In concert with our UKG PRO implementation, design and implement an in-house talent search capability with highly effective recruitment processes, practices, and standards that provide white-glove experiences for candidates and hiring managers.
  • Manage full cycle talent acquisition and personally execute searches, reducing the dependency of external search agency usage over time.
  • Select and manage external search firm partners as needed; negotiate vendor agreements and manage relationships and performance.
  • Leverage data and metrics in securing the right talent for Kilroy to enable us to achieve the vision, strategy, and goals of the business.
  • In collaboration with the People team, design competitive offers for candidates leveraging a deep understanding of the market and (as necessary) executive compensation elements.
  • Consult with and advise internal stakeholders on key industry talent trends and best practices.
  • Conduct proactive talent pipelining and sourcing initiatives leveraging industry expertise and relationships, as well as research/mapping, and other creative solutions.
  • Develop a structured interview process that incorporates key competencies, assessment capabilities and feedback forms that are simple, efficient and effective and training hiring teams in that process.
  • Collaborate closely with the People team on best practices, areas of improvement, and overall knowledge sharing.
  • Partner with the People Operations team to refine the Talent Acquisition “tech stack” and processes that force-multiply recruiter impact, facilitate hiring manager engagement, and deliver an exceptional candidate experience.
  • Facilitate a data-driven yet qualitatively informed approach to communicating Talent Acquisition decisions and performance.
  • Support special employee engagement projects as needed. Other duties as assigned.
