Technical Writing Intern

Amida is looking for a Technical Writing Intern to join our team, this opportunity will be in a hybrid or remote capacity.

The Technical Writing Intern will help produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our projects. You will develop a thorough understanding of one or more of our customer-facing projects and learn about how we compose clear and coherent project documentation (status reports, detailed analysis, training manuals, etc.) for our customers. This will include collaboration with developers, analysts, and other stakeholders, contribution to the documentation of project details and technical methodologies, and assistance with the production and editing of other relevant collateral.

What You Will Do

• Assist in the writing and editing of technical documents, including business proposals, reports, user manuals, briefings and presentations, functional descriptions, system specifications, guidelines, special reports, and other project deliverables to meet contract requirements
• Aid in the development of outlines and drafts for review and approval by technical specialists and project management, and to ensure compliance with contract requirements and regulations
• Help research and gather technical and background information for inclusion in project documentation and deliverables
• Consult various information sources including library resources, technical and financial documents, and client and project personnel to obtain background information and verify the guidelines and regulations that govern project deliverables
• Adhere to the in-house style guide
• Collaborate with project, product design, marketing, and user experience teams
  
  

Required Skills

• Working towards a Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or Technology
• Excellent written skills in English and strong interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work well in a diverse environment
• Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
• Ability to multitask and work independently as a positive contributor and team member
• Submission of two written samples of original work that have not been edited by others
