Description
Responsibilities:
Manufacture, assemble, and test New Glenn (GS1) First Stage Booster according to written procedures
Setup new production work areas, including tooling and equipment
Assist with the transition from development to production, including the first articles
Perform second-party verifications and hardware inspections of engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight vehicle and subassembly transportation equipment, truck-trailer combinations, and other ground support equipment as required
Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser trackers, height gauges, and optical measuring instruments
Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency
Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESD
Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision
Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, fields, and background
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Qualifications
1+years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field
Experience in at least one of the following is required: fluids and tubing install, instrumentation, and electrical harness routing, general Aerospace/Launch vehicle assembly
Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures
Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, fields, and backgrounds
Communicate clearly and appropriately, in writing and in person
Basic digital literacy such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
Climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas
Desired
Industry certification, trade school training, and/or degree in a related field
Proven success as a “hands-on” technical leader
Work optimally with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities
Continuous improvement attitude. Our job is never complete; we are always refining and improving
Intense curiosity for understanding the details of our business and how to optimize it
Experience in handling large aerospace components
Experience in assembling large tight-tolerance structures
Experience in new product introduction
Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment
Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification
Ability to lift heavy items to 50lbs
