Urban Outfitters Brand Marketing Intern

Urban Outfitters is looking for a Brand Marketing intern to join their team this Summer. As a Brand Marketing intern at Urban Outfitters, you'll assist with a range of tasks that support the brand's overall image and message. The Brand Marketing intern is a creative and dynamic team player. Opportunities in this area will help champion our brand through contribution to PR programs, influencer activations, special events coordination, and more.

About The Summer Internship Program

Each summer URBN Inc. welcomes candidates from across the country to immerse themselves within various teams across our portfolio of brands and gain hands-on learning experience in the area of business which they choose to pursue. The URBN 2025 Summer Internship Program will run from 6/2 through 8/8 at our Home Office in Philadelphia, PA.

Summer Internship Program Application Process

  • Apply to one (1) internship posting that best suits your interest & skills.  If there is a project component in the application (see below within role qualifications), it is required that you submit this to be considered for a position.  This is due at the time of your application submission.
  • Complete Video Interview: Candidates selected will receive an email with a link to complete a video Interview. You will have 2 days to complete this portion of the application once the email is received.  
  • Interviews will be scheduled with our internal teams, continuing on a rolling basis.   

Applications will close at 5:00pm EST on November 4th 2024. 

Role Responsibilities

Brand Strategy and General Support:

  • Assist with researching and analyzing marketing trends and competitor strategies to inform future brand initiatives.
  • Learn about brand positioning and messaging, and how it translates into marketing materials.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for new marketing ideas and campaigns.
    • Research and brainstorm content ideas that resonate with the target audience, keeping up-to-date with current trends and pop culture.
  • Contribute to the management of PR/marketing databases or content calendars.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to brand marketing activities.
    • Gifting, organizing office supplies
  • Monitor Radarly and UO Insiders community
Consumer Insights + Campaign Support:

  • Assist with various marketing campaigns, from ideation to execution, potentially involving email marketing, press outreach, or event promotion.
  • Conduct research to support campaign development, such as competitor analysis or target audience insights.
  • Assist with various research objectives (i.e. survey creation, discussion posts, etc.) and monitoring of the UO Insiders community
  • Help with creating presentations or reports to showcase campaign results.
  • Monitor UO through social listening and sharing/flagging out any interesting callouts with team

PR |Comss Support

  • Assist with administrative tasks related to PR activities - Weekly PR NL, tracking mentions
  • Research and help draft press releases/alerts for new product launches and brand initiatives
  • Research and compile competitor PR analysis
    • Research and identify trending topics and hashtags relevant to Urban Outfitters' target audience
  • Compile master media lists
  • Monitor media coverage and track in PR tracker
  • Staying up-to-date on current fashion trends and pop culture
Role Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Marketing or Communications preferred
  • Understanding of social media platforms such as Marketing Platforms, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Extremely well organized, methodical, and efficient.
  • Innovative and excited to bring ideas to the table
  • Self-motivated and proficient at managing multiple projects simultaneously

Project Requirement

In addition to your application and resume, to be considered for this role you must submit a Concept Board (8.5 X 11 PDF format is preferred). This is due at the time of your application submission. Once you complete your project, please upload it to additional documents section in the application process.

  • Create a marketing campaign concept board focused on Fall 2025 featuring tears of images (still life styling, editorial, artistic, branding, etc.) that you find aspirational for the brand’s creative direction and could be used as a potential collective campaign idea across email, digital and social platforms
  • You may use visuals from blogs, Instagram, magazines, etc. to show your point of view but be sure to think like a marketer when pulling your aspirational tears and compiling the concept board.
  • Be sure to include 2-3 influencers you could see as partners with this Fall 2025 campaign and why you think they would be great fits with our brand.
