Overview

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Vice President, Compensation will spearhead the development and implementation of forward-thinking compensation strategies aimed at attracting, engaging, and retaining top talent at VNS Health in a rapidly evolving market landscape. In this role, the ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in strategies to oversee a range of areas including executive compensation, short- and long-term incentive programs as well as management incentive programs. Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, the Vice President, Compensation will craft innovative and market-responsive compensation approaches that are both scalable and impactful. Furthermore, the Vice President, Compensation will ensure that these programs are aligned with VNS Health's strategic goals and organizational culture while also complying with legal and regulatory standards.

Compensation:

$172,900.00 - $230,500.00 Annual

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate closely with other members of the Human Resources team and with business leaders to establish and maintain effective organizational structures and job roles.
  • Serve as a lead internal spokesperson and advisor to VNS Health Executive Leadership Team on performance and operations and as a lead external spokesperson when required by the CPO
  • Provide expert guidance during labor negotiations, leveraging comprehensive data analysis and strategic insights to inform decision-making.
  • Assume responsibility for the design, implementation, and management of compensation programs. This will include market pricing, job evaluation, salary administration, variable pay models and programs, merit pay system, performance appraisal guidelines, and job descriptions to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and industry standards.
  • Experience with Career Framework, JDX or other job description systems a plus
  • Oversee the efficient operation of compensation functions within Workday, identifying opportunities for optimization and enhancement.
  • Ensure all job descriptions are compliant with DOH and CMS regulations as well as in full compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing compensation practices.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis and survey participation to inform compensation strategies, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends.
  • Ad-hoc reporting and analysis for individual participants and senior management

Qualifications

  • Hybrid schedule with a 3 day requirement in NYC Office
  • Minimum of 10 years as a compensation professional required with some experience in other functional areas of human resources; financial services experience a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years’ managerial experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience or exposure to HRIS environment, Workday or Peoplesoft (prior to Oracle acquisition) a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge of labor relations, compliance, regulatory agencies, etc. required
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, finance, economics, or other quantitative type field required
  • Master’s degree in related field preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (including v-lookups, pivot tables and/if statements) required
  • Creativity, good humor, collaborative skills, and organizational courage is essential
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and proven organizational skills are critical to success in this role
  • Strong analytical, planning and project management skills required
  • Excellent business judgment and problem-solving abilities required
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills required
