Vice President, Education, Credentialing, and Major Events

Hybrid position (In Falls Church, VA office 1-2 days/week) (fully remote candidates will not be considered) 


General Summary 

Are you a visionary leader with a passion for education, professional development, and event management? Join our dynamic team as the Vice President of Education, Credentialing, and Major Events at CAI, where you will lead and innovate our educational and credentialing programs, major events, and professional development initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, you'll collaborate with chapter leaders, staff, association leaders, and various teams within the organization. You'll be instrumental in ensuring our work aligns with the high standards and mission of the Institute, its affiliates, and CAI's commitment to equity and diversity. Primary Responsibilities 

  • Lead CAI’s Learning and Professional Development function. 
  • Analyze performance and learning needs. 
  • Project management for Education programs. 
  • Leadership and development of Education department staff. 
  • Lead Credentialing programs. 
  • Lead and inspire growth in Major Events. 
  • Linkage with Educational Resources. 
  • Develop a network of educational resources. 
  • Budget management. 
  • Support for Volunteer Committees and Task Forces. 


Requirements :

Education: 

Master’s degree required.

Professional certification in areas related to association management (e.g., CAE), HRD training or adult education (e.g., CPLP, SPHR), or meeting planning (e.g., CMP).

Commitment to ongoing professional development.


Skills: 

Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Expertise in teaching and learning processes, instructional design, and adult learning theory.

Proficient in managing multiple projects and leading department staff.

Strong customer service skills and ability to handle pressure professionally.

Knowledge of learning technology and software programs (e.g., LMS, course authoring tools). Business acumen and entrepreneurial skills in product creation, marketing, and operations 


Experience: 

Minimum of 10 years in a related field, with at least 2 years in senior management within a trade association, professional society, or allied group.

Experience in leading learning functions, developing education in various formats (face-to-face, online, multimedia), and managing certification programs.

Expertise in designing and managing “train-the-trainer” programs.
