Position Summary

The Principal, Enterprise Architect is responsible for setting architectural and technical direction across a wide span of enterprise applications and technologies. The Principal Enterprise Architect partners with business and IT leaders to develop business enabling technology strategies. Additionally, the Principal Enterprise Architect works to ensure large scale enterprise solutions meet business needs, are aligned with enterprise IT standards and are adequately futured proofed and cost justified. The Enterprise Architect is a trusted partner for business and IT leaders to ensure overall technology success and alignment to Ryan Specialty’s future state technology strategy and architecture.

What will your job entail?

  • Accountable for architecture of a portfolio programs and projects (up to ~$5M annual project spend)
  • Provides technology leadership across the organization
  • Partners with business stakeholders to develop strategic technology roadmap to meet business needs
  • Ensure solutions meet business needs
  • Design architectures across systems and identifies technology needs and risks
  • Ensures that solutions adhere to enterprise standards, are not overly complex and ‘in good order’
  • Ensures that appropriate architectural planning/runway has been established for a project start
  • Lead RFI and discovery efforts
  • Sets enterprise technology standards and architectural processes

Education/Experience/Skills

  • Experience in the Insurance industry a plus
  • Proven experience providing architectural leadership on a large and diverse technology portfolio ($5M+ annually)
  • Proven experience leading architects at an enterprise level
  • Experience influencing at all levels of the organization from individual contributor to senior executives
  • Experience working in complex multi-vendor, highly matrixed business environment
  • Deep technology skillset in programming and/or data technologies (15+ years)
  • High EQ, able to gain confidence and trust of IT and business partners, brings stakeholders along in a collaborative and inclusive manner

The target salary range for this position is $187,600.00 - $246,225.00 annually.

The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
