The summer heat brings all sorts of adventures for pet parents. But with all this excitement, it's important to keep our furry friends safe. While you’re having your end-of-summer fun, keep these helpful and hot tips in mind. ☀️ 🚗 Hot Cars: Even in 85°F, a car can reach 120°F in 30 minutes! Never leave your pets in the car, even with the windows cracked. 💧 Dehydration: Panting cools dogs down, but in excess can lead to dehydration. Always have plenty of fresh water for your pup. 🔥 Overheating/Heat Stroke: Dogs can overheat quickly. Watch out for signs of heat stroke, especially in shorter-snouted breeds (like bulldogs and pugs). Keep them cool and avoid midday walks. 🐾 Paw Burns: Pavement can get scorching hot! On an 80°F day, it can reach up to 125°F. Protect those paws by sticking to grassy areas or waiting for cooler parts of the day.
