Base pay range

$140,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

Our client serves major brands and corporations, theatres, cruise lines, sports properties, live venues, parks, resorts and more. Our client is looking for a Vice President of Human Resources who has passion, urgency and a strong overall Human Resources SME background to provide overall HR direction to the company. Our client seeks a seasoned and polished Vice President, Human Resources that can interact and influence with Senior Leadership and a staff of 200+. In addition, can understand company operations and connect those to the Human Resource function. Someone who is excited about growth and change, and able to help facilitate a culture to embrace movement. This position reports directly to Chief Financial Officer and will manage a team of 2. This position is in New York City and will require onsite capability. No remote or relocation for this one.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic HR plans and policies, including recruitment, training, and compensation.
  • Collaborate with Leadership Team to craft the company’s vision and mission.
  • Enforcing departmental and organizational goals for business growth.
  • Represent the organization in a professional manner at each Headquarters, client meetings, industry events, etc.
  • Create and maintain a positive and inclusive work culture that promotes employee engagement, retention, and development
  • Liaise with company payroll to manage administrative processes around the full-time employment lifecycle.
  • Oversee all aspects of the employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Promote and maintain a positive employee relations environment, addressing any employee concerns or conflicts with professionalism and sensitivity
  • Prepare and analyze human resources data and metrics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Communicate and champion the organization's values, mission, and goals to all employees.
  • Manage other area-specific HR projects, as necessary


The Candidate

Experience and Professional Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Arts Administration or Organizational Management. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10 + years in Human Resource experience in increasing leadership roles.
  • Confident professional experience in HR management preferably in the live entertainment industry.
  • Experience leading and managing a team.
  • Consultative and influencing skills to work closely with executive team.
  • Strong knowledge of legal and government processes as they apply to labor and employment laws, rules, and regulations (understanding of HR outside of North America a plus).
  • Ensure HR operational integrity and compliance with all related policies and procedures (workers compensation rules and protocols, unemployment rules and protocols, etc.).
  • Empathy, interpersonal skills, and creativity in planning the FUN.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong strategic and organizational skills, attention to detail with an ability to operate on both conception and implementation levels.
  • Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to adhere to strict confidential requirements and exercise good judgment.
  • A valid passport for the duration of employment for all travel-related roles.
