What You'll Do

As the VP IT Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technology vision of the organisation. You will act as a trusted advisor for the business function leadership team, interpreting their needs and applying technology solutions to enable them. Your ability to communicate effectively, manage incidents and negotiate with elegance will be key to your success in this role. Furthermore, you will demonstrate impeccable customer servicing skills and teamwork. This role also requires you to mentor junior staff members, demonstrating our values and professionalism at all times.

• Act as the principal point of engagement and business partner for a business function, taking accountability for IT Delivery, Incidents, Technology Vision/Roadmap, IT investment plan and IT Supplier Management.
• Demonstrate leadership skills while considering stakeholder perspectives.
• Negotiate effectively and know when to escalate issues.
• Communicate, escalate and manage incidents efficiently.
• Act as an internal management consultant to frame business concerns using in-house and supplier team members.
• Interpret business needs and apply technology to enable them.
  
  

What You Bring

The ideal candidate for the VP IT Business Partner role will bring a wealth of experience from the insurance sector along with specific professional qualifications at degree level or equivalent. You should have at least five years' experience in enterprise IT portfolio management and leading teams. Your strong customer orientation skills will enable you to manage customer expectations proactively. An Agile delivery certification would be advantageous. Your ability to negotiate difficult situations to a successful conclusion will be key to your success in this role.

• Professional qualifications at degree level or equivalent.
• Previous Insurance experience preferred along with familiarity with Outwards Reinsurance.
• Experience working as part of a senior team within a complex organisation (preferably within financial services industry).
• At least 5 years of enterprise IT portfolio management experience.
• Strong customer orientation skills with the ability to proactively manage customer expectations.
• Agile delivery certification is desirable.
• Experience negotiating difficult situations to a successful conclusion.
