Vice President of Business Development & M&A Strategy

Description

We are seeking a dynamic individual to spearhead our M&A deal sourcing efforts. In this pivotal role, you will establish and nurture relationships with potential acquisition targets, evaluating their potential to drive financial and operational growth for our Process & Industrial Products (PIP) Group. Reporting directly to the PIP Group President, you will keep a close eye on macro-level trends and competitive landscapes, providing timely updates on market shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with business leaders within the PIP Group to identify and prioritize new strategic growth opportunities that align with our long-term vision.
  • Market Research: Investigate and evaluate potential growth markets to expand our footprint in core and adjacent areas.
  • Acquisition Pipeline: Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of potential acquisition and partnership candidates, ensuring regular updates for Senior Management review.
  • Opportunity Development: Lead periodic sessions with Business Units to generate and explore new ideas and opportunities.
  • Relationship Building: Proactively engage with owners and key executives at target companies to enhance our position and expand our network.
  • Global Outreach: Strengthen connections with global Private Equity firms to improve our positioning for securing deals.
  • Due Diligence: Participate in and lead due diligence activities, focusing on critical areas when assigned.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with management teams to create and implement a robust business continuity plan.

What We're Looking For

  • Educational Background: A degree in Engineering or Physical Science, with an MBA highly preferred.
  • Experience: Over 10 years in an industrial company, with commercial roles and broad international market exposure.
  • Skills: Demonstrated strategic planning and sales expertise, with a keen ability to anticipate and evaluate technology and market trends in the industrial sector.
  • Leadership: Strong executive presence with proven ability to build effective internal and external relationships, and to influence across organizational lines.
