About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and strategic leader to direct and lead our Card Operations team to ensure outstanding service delivery, operational efficiency, and strategic growth. You will oversee all aspects of our debit, credit, and ATM card programs, as well as card and payments fraud prevention, money transfer solutions (such as Zelle), cash withdrawal and deposit solutions, and shared branching and ATM solutions.

Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing strategies to enhance the member experience while ensuring regulatory compliance. You will define and lead initiatives within the card operations space, collaborating with internal stakeholders to support cross-functional projects that align with our organization’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for the Card Operations team in alignment with the organization's objectives.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance card product offerings and the overall member experience.
  • Lead the daily operations of the Card Operations team, managing debit, credit, and ATM cards, fraud prevention, money transfer solutions, and ATM solutions, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and high member satisfaction.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative, member-focused culture.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of all card and related products, from issuance to account closure, including fraud resolution and dispute management.
  • Implement robust risk management practices to protect against fraud and ensure data security.
  • Ensure compliance with card operating rules established by networks and payment processors, staying updated with any changes.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for operations-related vendors, overseeing vendor performance and negotiating contracts and service level agreements.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of card operations procedures, ensuring adherence by the team.
  • Ensure business continuity requirements are met for card operations, maintaining preparedness for any disruptions.
  • Display integrity, self-awareness, courage, and respect for staff while fostering learning agility and adaptability.
  • Take ownership of actions, decisions, and results, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

  • 10-12 years of experience in financial services, payments, or card products, with 4-6 years in card operations management.
  • 4-6 years of management experience, leading teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong understanding of card industry regulations, trends, and best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, capable of engaging with all levels of leadership.
  • A strong service orientation, with a focus on delivering exceptional member experiences.
  • Strategic thinking, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using standard office equipment, including PC, copier, and telephone.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (e.g., file boxes, computer equipment).
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience managing teams in an operational setting within a financial institution.
  • Knowledge of financial products and services.
  • Proficiency in card management systems and related technologies.
