Vice President of Clinical Services

Overview

The new VP of Clinical Services’ purpose is to “create smiles in the eyes of people we serve” by fulfilling Presbyterian Homes’ mission, purpose, motto, commitment to service, promise, and practices. This position is a key member of PHS leadership/management team, responsible for acknowledging the Christian purposes of PHS, reinforcing the Christian heritage, and establishing a culture of caring consistent with the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee clinical service delivery for designated programs.
  • Manage the implementation of clinical processes including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation based upon regulations and established best practices in conjunction with leadership team, establish clinical policies and procedures, and protocol regarding the provision of the clinical or program services.
  • Develop new systems and standardization of clinical policies, procedures and practices across the organization that integrate population health philosophies and are consistent with regulations and established clinical best practices. Use the quality management process to evaluate clinical operations.
  • Identify the needs of the Clinical Services in the organization. Assure an effective communication and problem-solving process is in place to optimize the flow of information between site and PHS Management & Services. Assure collaboration to achieve desired organizational outcomes and site goals.
  • Set and monitor performance/outcome standards for all areas of the clinical functions across the continuum, including staffing standards, policies, procedures, and forms


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field; Masters preferred
  • Registered Nurse in the states PHS provides clinical services.
  • Two to five (2 - 5) years leadership experience in nursing.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Seven (7+) years of progressive management responsibilities within healthcare leadership, preferably within an acute care, or post-acute setting.
    • Three (3+) years of clinical management role with responsibility for multiple facilities/communities supporting assisted living and care center environments.
  • Nursing experience in long-term and/or acute care settings Extensive knowledge in regulatory requirements and nursing practices in the continuum of care PHS supports
  • Extensive experience facilitating and managing challenging situations, including conflict resolution and demonstration of outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Experience in facilitating high-level multidisciplinary group decisions
  • Excellent leadership, team building and coaching skills; Ability to manage multiple projects and direct reports in multiple locations.
  • Strong public relations skills for dealing with physicians, agencies, surveyors, etc.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills are required. Ability to read, analyze and write reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills; adaptability, flexibility, and creativity.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other common computer programs.
  • Ability to travel in the states where we have locations (currently MN, WI, IA and WA)
  • Ability to travel to PHS sites and work a flexible schedule to support site and organizational needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
  • Demonstrated compatibility with PHS’ mission and operating philosophies.
