The Vice President of Enterprise Application is a core leader at Suncoast Credit Union. This role provides IT leadership for the Application Development team while providing technical leadership to develop corporate technology for the organization. Key responsibilities include overseeing the full life-cycle of application development and delivery of complex product portfolios. Responsibilities
Oversee the operations of the Application Development department
Provide IT leadership by supporting initiatives, fostering relationships with internal and external parties, and providing expertise or counsel
Collaborate with the IT Leadership Team to lead in the development of application technology strategies and investments
Foster the collaborative support of all business unit leaders by communicating IT application development strategies and plans
Align departmental strategy with the overall goals of the organization
Develop policies, practices, and procedures to significantly improve the entire organization
Oversee the full life-cycle of application development, including the physical infrastructure design, programming, integration, installation, and functionality testing
Create time and cost estimates for the implementation of new or revised application systems to meet the current needs of the organization
Establish scope and delivery expectations with business partners, product teams, and customers
Monitor the implementation progress to ensure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met
Manage obstacles, close gaps, and mitigate risk to ensure application delivery is prompt, within budget, and of impeccable quality
Lead the implementation of internal methodology and process improvements
Build a world-class Application Development Team by using best-in-class practices and technologies
Provide quality measurements to the IT Leadership Team
Drive quality initiatives through the design and development phase
Ensure high-quality talent and succession planning are maintained
Implement best practices for recruiting, training, developing, and retaining IT professional staff
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (A comparable combination of education, work experience, and training may be substituted for education requirements)
10+ years of enterprise application development experience, including management experience
Executive level experience preferred
Expert ability to manage application development at scale, employing SDLC methodologies including Agile and Scrum
Experience developing and supporting mission-critical applications optimized to run in the cloud or virtualized environments
Extensive knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities
Excellent organization, prioritization, analytical, and problem-solving skills to effectively manage areas of responsibility and attain goals
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, government regulators, and senior executive leadership
Ability to negotiate, influence, and reach a compromise
