The Vice President of People for Retail is a pivotal leadership role designed to architect and implement innovative talent strategies that align with Benefit’s Global Retail Objectives and support our commitment to excellence. In this dynamic position, you will distill our global people strategy into actionable, local-level plans that are both effective in diverse markets and reflective of Benefits Retail People Priorities. You will serve as the strategic People Business Partner to the Chief Commercial Officer, providing visionary leadership across all facets of human resources. Your mission is to create meaningful connections between our Global People Team and Regional HR teams, fostering a collaborative environment where unique business needs are met with tailored solutions. As an advocate for Benefit’s culture and values, you will champion initiatives that enhance our workforce capabilities and drive organizational success. This entails offering visibility into LVMH’s best practices and innovative solutions while ensuring Benefit's voices are heard at every level. With a nuanced understanding of the beauty industry’s trends and challenges, you will balance local market intricacies against overarching company goals.

What You’ll Do:

Craft a Cohesive Retail Talent Strategy:

  • Design and spearhead a global retail people strategy in concert with local HR Directors, encompassing workforce strategy, succession planning, organizational assessment, total rewards, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), and talent acquisition.
  • Create an exceptional employee experience that energizes teams, drives engagement and Great Place to Work (GPTW) results, while also establishing a career path that fosters mobility within the Beauty Division's retail sector.

Develop Top Talent:

  • Cultivate capabilities across all organizational levels by providing trusted advice and coaching to enhance leadership skills, team performance, and business outcomes.

Align Strategies with Legal Standards & Business Goals:

  • Ensure retail talent strategies are legal-compliant, reflect best practices, and support vital business objectives.
  • Build a globally high-performing HR team through effective communication, personalized development opportunities, and consistent feedback.

Partner with Global HR Centers of Expertise:

  • Relay Retail Team needs back to Global COEs by contributing insights and challenges while collaborating on global program designs.
  • Lead execution of global initiatives locally while harnessing people analytics to assess program impact.

Qualifications:

  • Global retail experience is a must with 10+ years of experience in human resources, particularly in managing global teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, coaching, leadership, or related field. Equivalent experience may be accepted.
  • Hybrid - requires onsite presence weekly to a Benefit Office

The target salary range for this position in California is $250,000 - $280,000 annually. The actual salary offered is based on market location and will depend on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, years of relevant experience; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.

  • Build a globally high-performing HR team through effective communication, personalized development opportunities, and consistent feedback.

Partner with Global HR Centers of Expertise:

  • Lead execution of global initiatives locally while harnessing people analytics to assess program impact.

Foster Organizational Collaboration:

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with partners within Benefit Cosmetics, the Beauty Division at large, and LVMH Group to ensure seamless initiative rollouts.

Drive Change Management & Initiative Adoption:

  • Champion change management processes for successful training and implementation of new HR initiatives throughout the retail landscape.
  • Regularly connect with stakeholders throughout Benefit Cosmetics to identify essential needs for success in corporate and retail environments.

Optimize Workforce Planning & Development:

  • Implement strategic workforce planning aimed at building an internal pipeline reflective of evolving industry demands.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in crafting effective talent strategies utilizing resources from both Benefit Cosmetics and LVMH Group.

Drive Engagement through Effective Total Rewards Strategies:

  • Drive a total rewards strategy that balances profitability Benefit’s employee value proposition, drives retention, and engagement.
  • Oversee payroll budgeting within Retail to ensure optimal compensation structures that align with company priorities.
