We are currently searching for a Vice President of Operations with experience in medical device to join one of Tampa Bay's most admired companies.


Vice President of Operations


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • Master’s degree or advanced education preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification required; Black Belt certification preferred.


Previous Work Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operational management.
  • Experience in medical manufacturing preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience managing operations across multiple shifts; experience in a 24/7 environment preferred.


Essential Functions:


  • Oversee daily operational activities and act as the subject matter expert for process planning and prioritization. Develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, maintain quality, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and motivation to the operations team. Address routine supervisory issues, including training, coaching, and performance evaluations. Support the development of future leaders within the department.
  • Integrate the corporate vision, mission, and values into operational practices and promote a culture of respect and civility throughout the facility.
  • Collaborate with the executive leadership team to assess overall company performance, guide executive decision-making, and recommend actions to stakeholders.
  • Evaluate operational performance against established KPIs and industry best practices. Identify opportunities for improving accountability and reporting metrics to support competencies, goals, objectives, and trend analysis.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies. Apply this knowledge to update policies, practices, and resources as needed.
  • Plan, administer, and control budgets for employee and equipment resources based on company growth and future needs, ensuring financial health and sustainability.
  • Represent the company professionally at external and internal events, including charity functions, trade shows, and customer visits.
  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong conflict resolution abilities.
  • Strong analytical and metric-driven skills, with exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Providing Consultation and Advice: Offering expert guidance on technical, systems, or process-related topics.
  • Making Decisions and Solving Problems: Analyzing trends and information to choose the best solutions.
  • Championing Change: Supporting and communicating change initiatives within the department and company.
  • Developing Objectives and Strategies: Establishing long-term objectives and strategies to achieve them.


Demonstrated Competencies:


  • Strong computer skills and experience with ERP systems and Microsoft products, including Word and Excel.
  • Proficient in managerial skills such as interviewing, hiring, promoting, coaching, disciplining, and terminating employees.
  • In-depth understanding of supply chain and manufacturing processes and practices.
