About Our Client

Our client for the Vice President of Sales - Education opportunity is a global manufacturer of educational storage and furniture. This company has global headquarters in Europe and manufacturing presence in Europe and the US. This organization is growing globally, and specifically investing in the US region as they have already triple their revenue in the last 2 years in the region.

The Vice President of Sales will in be charge of leading the US regional sales, branding, business development and growth strategy. The VP of Sales will start as an individual contributor and then build out a sales team. The VP of Sales needs to have a strong track record in leadership growing, hiring, mentoring a sales force, selling through distribution partners, and also to OEMs. The VP of Sales must come from the Education industry - preferrable educational furniture or related. This is 100% remote work from home role, however the candidate preferrable needs to be located in the Midwest region. OTE (annual on target earnings) - $300,000 - $375,000.

Job Description

  • Responsible for the overall sales execution, plan, strategy, forecasting and growth for the US region
  • Build strong customer relationships and strategic partnerships to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions
  • Partner with distribution and reps groups in the educational furniture and supply space
  • Grow current and identify new OEM customers
  • Achieve and exceed Budget Sales and Gross Margin targets with customers
  • Ensure all reports, plans, forecasts, and administrative requirements are completed accurately and in a timely manner meeting all reporting deadlines as set by senior management
  • Work closely with cross functional teams, marketing, product management, manufacturing, logistics, and other groups
  • Hire, train, develop, manage, mentor, develop, and coach sales team members
  • Assist and provide direction with sales team members on key decisions makers at customers helping guide them through the sales, account management, and business development process removing roadblocks.
  • Responsible for timely and efficient communication of the strategic plan with all key stakeholders
  • Efficiently plan customer facing time and call cycles to maximize time management and diligently complete call reports etc. on CRM
  • Provide regular and relevant feedback on Market conditions, competitor activities and progress towards business objectives.
  • Attend industry trade shows, conferences, customer events, and related events
  • Analyze the current market position, i.e. the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing or related. Master's preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Sales
  • Minimum 5 years in a Sales Leadership role leading and growing high performing teams
  • Must have experience within the educational sector, preferrable with educational storage and/or furniture
  • Must have experience selling through distribution and/or manufacturing reps
  • Strong executive presence
  • Prior experience growing and scaling a business
  • Strong leadership skills developing, mentoring and inspiring a sales organization
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong presentations and communication skills required
  • Ability to travel 40-50% across the US region, occasional international travel

What's On Offer

Competitive base salary $175,000 - $225,000 depending on experience, annual company bonus with annual OTE (on target earnings) - $300,000 - $375,000, holidays, healthcare, remote 100% work from home, and working for a fast paced global growing organization.
