Today, on #WorldMentalHealthDay, we’re reflecting on this year’s theme: “It is Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace.” “For many of us, work is where we spend the majority of our time and energy. It’s where ideas come to life, careers are built, and people connect. But work is also where pressure can mount, stress can escalate, and well-being can be easily overlooked. That’s why it’s crucial for us to create environments where mental health is given the same attention as any other business priority.” Geir Håøy, CEO of KONGSBERG. At KONGSBERG, with a team of 14 000 employees across 40 countries, we understand that a healthy workplace isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s about taking into account different backgrounds, experiences, and needs. This means looking beyond policies and investing in practical support, promoting social inclusion, and ensuring that no one feels isolated or overwhelmed. When people feel connected and valued, it not only enhances their performance but also their overall quality of life. We encourage everyone— leaders and team members alike—to take small but meaningful steps to build a workplace culture that is open, inclusive, and supportive. This can be as simple as starting a conversation, checking in on a colleague, or sharing resources that make a difference. #KONGSBERG #ProtectingPeopleandPlanet

We are thrilled to announce that we have secured a significant contract with Coastal Alaska Premier Seafoods to upgrade the Trawl Winches and Variable Speed Drives (VSD) on their vessel Northern Hawk. The vessel was built in 1981 and converted to a trawler in 1990 when it was equipped with Norwinch hydraulic winches. In 2008 the winches were upgraded by KONGSBERG with AC electrical winch solutions. This latest upgrade which will be performed during docking in April 2025 will consist of 2 new Easydrive XT140 Trawl Winches and new VSD replacing the old Bosch drives onboard. Adin Maksumic, Head of aftermarket sales, remarked; "With this upgrade, Northern Hawk will be equipped with the innovative direct drive trawl winches and will be ready for many more years of service. The new system brings in benefits as simplicity, noise reduction, high efficiency, 30% pulling force boost function and excellent dynamic properties of the winch.” A big thanks goes out to our brilliant sales team for the effort they put in securing this fantastic order.
