Base pay range

$84,000.00/yr - $144,000.00/yr

We're seeking an experienced Senior Video Producer and creative visual storyteller to produce premium digital video content for CNET platforms, including CNET.com, YouTube, and social channels (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts). You will work closely with a team of video creators to produce distinctive, high-impact, tech-focused videos that will help CNET stand out as the number one tech news and reviews brand and provide audiences with an expert, unique and helpful visual guide to understanding tech.


Candidates should have a strong background in shooting, editing and producing, and be equally adept in all three disciplines. The role will require you to conceptualize, pitch and execute your own long-form and short-form video ideas. You should understand the different social and video platforms, the types of content that succeeds on each, and how to optimize that content at every stage of production to drive viewership and brand expansion.


The ideal candidate can thrive working solo, as well as in close collaboration with on-camera talent and CNET edit staff.


In this role, you will:

  • Produce, shoot and edit video content that demonstrates a high level of expertise in video production and storytelling.
  • Lead video projects, acting with ownership and prioritizing work effectively.
  • Lead ideation sessions, pre-production meetings, and cross-functional discussions to conceptualize compelling video content and develop distinctive video formats.
  • Train and mentor teammates and help direct on-camera talent.
  • Set up field shoots, including securing legal clearances and permits. Shoot b-roll, interviews, a-roll and more with a focus on tech products in-studio, in the field and at live events.
  • Edit video under tight deadlines, including day-of turns, using Adobe Premiere. Consistently deliver high-quality videos against agree-upon timelines.
  • Work closely with social producers to develop social video strategies.
  • Tackle multiple creative projects simultaneously.


What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of professional video production and editing experience. Expert editing, producing and/or script writing skills.
  • Expert shooting background with mirrorless cameras in a variety of backdrops and settings, including in studio, in the field and live events. Experience shooting horizontal and vertical video.
  • Expertise in audio and 3-point lighting setup.
  • Post-production experience including color correction and color grading skills.
  • Adobe Premiere and Photoshop expertise.
  • Experience in developing and producing successful content on YouTube.
  • Strong understanding of the evolving tech, video and social media landscape and industry including being on top of trends, news and production developments.
  • Inventive thinker who looks to push the creative boundaries and thrives on experimentation and innovation.
  • Intermediate understanding of using data to inform video strategy.
  • Independent creator who also loves collaboration and coordination with others
  • Good communicator who proactively communicates roadblocks and progress against timelines.
  • Openness to give and receive constructive editorial and creative feedback.
  • Ability to work some off hours when events and news warrant.
  • BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and experience - broadcast journalism, film/video or related field.
  • Based in San Francisco with the ability to travel for work when necessary

Compensation

  • San Francisco, California Compensation Range: $84,000 - $144,000
