Position Overview

K18 is looking for a VP of Global Brand Marketing to join our team. The right candidate is a strong, proactive leader who is both a conceptual and strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit. We are looking for someone with a curiosity and love for science and the professional stylist universe.

This role will be responsible for owning, creating and developing our 3-year innovation global category strategy that drives growth across all regions and cross functional value between professional and consumer channels.

In addition, you will be responsible for developing brand objectives, marketing calendar, category analysis, articulating brand and product positioning and pillars, pricing, line edit, new product strategy, campaign ideation and project leadership for new global product launches across professional and consumer businesses.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Category Strategy

  • Define and lead brand development for K18
  • Develop new product strategy ensuring breakthrough insightful innovations launch in global markets
  • Partner with cross functional teams to create relevant studies to inform product positioning, pricing and innovation strategy
  • Monitor performance in the global marketplace and recommend ongoing optimizations
  • Support PD & founder on creating the 3-year innovation plan and strategy to ensure plans are sold in, sufficient and meet LRP

Product Launch Management

  • Understand and decode trends and incorporate into projects
  • Responsible for the creative and innovative concepts that target unique consumer insights, address business needs and meets brand DNA
  • Manage the end-to-end GTM product strategy (insights, pricing, positioning, formula direction, packaging design, artwork) partnering with cross functional teams to ensure comprehensive and on-time 360 launch
  • Lead concept presentation to sr. leadership + operational meetings to drive projects through gates with agility and an entrepreneurial approach
  • Ensure the feasibility and profitability of projects
  • Work with regions to ensure projects are attractive locally
  • Participate in new product testing across categories and provide meaningful usage feedback
  • Drive strategic sampling programs
  • Lead and motivate cross-functional teams to drive timelines and complete projects
  • Prepare materials for presentation of marketing plans to all professional channels and consumer retailers when applicable, i.e. Sales meetings, regional roundtables
  • Assess project performance based on market feedback and business results
  • Identify ways to refresh products and maintain competitive edge

Go To Market

  • Oversee the go-to-market (GTM) process, including campaign ideation, timeline management, and cross-functional alignment for both core and new product launches. Present leadership updates and provide recaps with key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure content meets the innovation proposition
  • Establish performance metrics and expected outcomes and ROI

International & Press

  • Manage the brand marketing team, driving efforts across product marketing, public relations (PR), campaign execution, and international marketing initiatives.

Strategic initiatives

  • Work with corporate pricing and help define global pricing strategy across all key franchises and pillars
  • Direct and support overall business initiatives and strategic planning including discontinuation analysis, management of excess inventory, pricing analysis, etc.

Qualifications

  • 10+ Years' Experience
  • Previous experience with professional and science based brands required
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • Proven experience executing strategy and transformational agenda
  • A true team player that is able to strategically influence and happily work within a matrixed organization with multiple cross functional partners
  • Balances tradeoffs between global consistency vs. regional nuance
  • Strategic mindset and executes strategy agenda from 3-5-year roadmap through operational business planning
  • Interprets analytics/insights including launch sell through results to inform forecast, assortment, price, promo, etc.
  • Always creates through a professional stylist first lens; connecting target audience insights to product ideas and communication campaigns
  • Connects category insights and analytics to create product innovation that is on point and relevant
  • Spots early trends and can quickly translate to a profound consumer concept
  • Creative & open-minded thinker that draws inspiration from inside and outside the category to develop truly unique propositions
