Job Description

The VP, New Business Development is responsible for managing the opportunity pipeline and development of new business cases to achieve brokerage goals and strategies. This individual will work collaboratively with our brokerage strategy leaders, product teams, enterprise partners to develop new business cases and new investment opportunity that will be reviewed by senior management at our quarterly investment committee. They will work in partnership with our customer and product strategy leaders along with Finance, Delivery, Analytics, UX Design and Research, and technology leaders to evaluate, size, and build the business cases to help prioritize our existing resources or new investment spending. You will be part of the Brokerage Customer and Product strategy organization responsible for commercializing our brokerage offering to drive growth within the self-directed investing markets and customer segments.

The Value You Deliver

  • Scans competitive and technology markets, in partnership with business, enterprise and others, to help generate business cases and new market opportunities.
  • Partners with the enterprise, customer strategy, and product delivery teams to drive discovery and research new business opportunities.
  • Drives business case development and other strategic analyses through collaboration with key partners to create recommendations.
  • Partners with UX Design and Research to build our solution concepts and designs of new offerings.
  • Works with Customer and Product strategy teams to define new offerings, pricing, and execute research to assess demand.
  • Structures and organizes quarterly opportunity pipeline reviews to enable strategic dialogue and decision-making for Brokerage senior management team.
  • Partners closely with delivery teams, customer and product strategy, and live channel to capture and evaluate and vet new ideas.
  • Partners with analytics and research teams to identify opportunities based on competitive and customer research, to grow market share with our key segments and offerings.
  • Partners with finance to develop business cases for new offerings.


The Skills And Expertise You Bring

  • MBA or equivalent is preferred.
  • 10-15+ years of relevant work experience with a background in product strategy or consulting within the financial services industry
  • Business case and strategy development experience working across a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience engaging with senior internal and external customers and partners to build business cases or opportunity sizing.
  • Financial services experience with experience navigating large complex organizations.
  • Serves as an inspirational people leader, capable of setting strategic direction and encouraging others to deliver results and impact to achieve that strategy.
  • Experience defining strategic roadmaps and leading the development of solutions and offerings aligned with and in support of the strategic direction of the business.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills with which you influence and engage across Fidelity and levels of the organization.
  • Data-focused approach to decision making, in day-to-day leadership and strategic tradeoff analyses.

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
