Tipsy Putt is California’s premier indoor mini golf pub! We're growing rapidly and looking for an amazing and experienced VP to run our financial program.

Tipsy Putt is a growing, unique drinkertainment restaurant with multiple locations throughout Northern California. We offer a large rotating local beer, wine and cocktail selection, indoor mini golf, a multitude of other unique pub games and a vibe that makes you want to let loose.

Tipsy Putt is not only party central but also strives to be a positive contributor to the community by supporting local independent brewers, local small businesses, and local charities.

About this role:

We currently have locations throughout Northern California and we are expanding in other markets. This role will require intermittent travel to Tipsy Putt locations.

Experience and Credentials:

  • 15 years minimum progressively experience in Accounting and Finance
  • BS Degree in Accounting; MBA is helpful as long as it supplements the strategic


credentials to a rock solid Accounting foundation

  • Big 4 or well-known CPA firm audit roles at least 3 years
  • Controller or Head of Finance roles in in a company of at least $20 million in


annual sales

  • Have had career experience as a hands-on Accountant, Accounting Manager or


Controller

  • Demonstrated excellent in accrual accounting principles, GAAP vs tax basis


reporting;

  • Experienced in accounting in multiple LLC organization (“Parent/ sub and/ or


Sister LLCs”) , as well as multi-location books and operations (separate

Balance sheets and P&Ls) for each LLC and Each location

  • Deep knowledge of Accounting Operations and processes; account


reconciliations and substantiation of all balance sheet accounts

  • Deep understanding of cash management, including, billing collections, real


estate leases, debt, strong in A/R and A/P, payroll processing (hourly and salary

semi-monthly)

  • Some experience in business and planning experience, including directly


preparing budgets, strategic plans, decision support models, such as pricing,

location economic models

  • Experience in monthly inventory counts, costing and recording by location, real


estate leases, construction and leasehold improvements

Job function:

  • This is a very hands on position which will either supervise and still totally own


themselves , or directly do all accounting and reporting tasks.

  • Determine the optimal cost effective finance and accounting organization and


levels or plan to outsource as applicable

  • Maintain accurate books including fully substantiated, fully reconciled, GAAP


compliant all balance sheet accounts each month end, after any residual clean

up and elimination of issues

  • Close books fully and accurately in 10 days; revenue flash by day 4; using


accruals to accurately account for late invoices

  • Ensure that all bank, credit card, payroll and daily sales transactions are


recorded in daily (sales) or weekly batches and reconciled to source documents

during the month to streamline close (AP, Payroll, collections)

  • Maintain a proper data base of all accounting reconciliations, payroll reports and


back up supporting each close

  • Prepare semi- annual budgets and monthly update forecasts, monthly variance


analysis shared and vetted with Management

  • Develop key metrics and dashboard, particularly at the level of each individual


Location for clear P&Ls by Location

  • Manage payroll, cash disbursements, cash receipts, daily sales recording
  • Assist any new equity investments or debt
  • Assist in preparing Board packages
  • Ad-hoc requests by CEO or others on Management team
  • This is not meant to be the entire scope of work, but the main function. There will likely be more items in your areas of responsibility.
