Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, and order fulfillment. They ensure efficient utilization of space, equipment, and personnel to meet operational targets and customer satisfaction. Additionally, they lead a team of warehouse staff, providing direction, training, and support to ensure a safe and productive work environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Warehouse Operations Management:

Coordinate and oversee daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of products.

Develop and implement efficient procedures for inventory management, stock rotation, and order fulfillment to optimize productivity and minimize errors.

Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, reconciliations, and audits.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.

Staff Supervision and Training:

Recruit, train, and supervise warehouse personnel, including warehouse associates, supervisors, and forklift operators.

Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations to team members to enhance their skills and performance.

Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement among warehouse staff.

Resource Allocation and Planning:

Optimize the use of warehouse space, equipment, and labor resources to meet operational goals and budgetary constraints.

Plan and schedule workflow to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders and minimize backlog.

Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement and logistics, to facilitate efficient inbound and outbound transportation and inventory replenishment.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of received and shipped goods.

Enforce compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies regarding handling, storage, and transportation of goods.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies, damages, or other issues related to inventory or shipments.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and productivity improvement within the warehouse operations.

Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements, system upgrades, or workflow automation initiatives.

Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to track performance trends and drive continuous improvement efforts.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (preferred).

Proven experience 2 years in warehouse management or a similar role, preferably in a distribution or manufacturing environment.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC.:

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a diverse team of warehouse personnel.

Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of safety regulations, OSHA requirements, and best practices for warehouse operations.

Forklift Certification And Experience Operating Material Handling Equipment (preferred).

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
