Water Resources Engineer II

We are looking for a talented Water Resources Engineer to join our Water Resources team in Edwardsville, Illinois. The ideal candidate for this role will be a civil or environmental engineer with experience in water/wastewater and/or stormwater design. This position will be a part of a dynamic Water Resources team that helps municipalities and utilities provide clean water to their customers and our communities. Lochmueller Group is a growing civil engineering and environmental consulting firm with an emphasis on infrastructure. We provide multi-disciplined services for a variety of public agencies and private entities, including transportation design; water resources design; environmental analysis & permitting; construction engineering & inspection; traffic engineering & planning; and land acquisition & appraisal.

In this position, the candidate will:

• Prepare preliminary design plans, documents, and specifications under the general guidance of senior engineers
• Conduct analyses and perform standard computations, drawings, and visual aids for a variety of water resources projects
• Collaborate with the design team to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Conduct field inspections to gather relevant data and contribute to site assessments
• Utilize design software and tools for drafting and modeling
• Support the development of cost estimates for projects
• Perform quality control self-checks of assigned work

Qualifications for this role:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or another applicable engineering field.
• Passed, or pursuing passage, of the FE/EI exam
• 2+ years of relevant water resources engineering experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS and Bentley MicroStation is a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
