Job Description

Headway is actively seeking a Wetland Scientist/Project Manager based in the Gulf States and/or Southwest U.S. This is a full-time remote role. The Wetland Scientist/Project Manager will be responsible for conducting biological habitat assessments, wetland assessments, CWA Section 404 permit applications, mitigation planning, managing projects, client development/management, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, providing technical expertise, and ensuring compliance for our clients with environmental regulations. They will also be responsible for completing and reviewing environmental reports, conducting fieldwork, and overseeing project timelines and budgets. Our Project Managers ensure our clients’ projects are efficiently executed from start to finish by working closely with Office Principals and our Technology Team to deliver high-quality deliverables that exceed client expectations. Project Managers may also work on projects in multiple geographies within the United States.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, standard business hours

Location: Nationwide, Remote

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience conducting or managing biological/wetland assessment and environmental compliance projects
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Ability to obtain state and federal special-status species survey permits
  • Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) Certification
  • State and/or federally listed species survey permits, or ability to obtain
