I've just uploaded the third video in my 'Alignment in schools' series. It focusses on pedagogical alignment - alignment between your beliefs about how people learn (your pedagogical stance) and how you support learning (your pedagogical practice). It includes an activity that will help you make your pedagogical stance explicit. The video itself is 9 minutes - add to that the time taken to do the activity (roughly another 8 minutes). I think you will find it interesting ... https://lnkd.in/gfC-7x7b

To foster high-quality classroom discussions, teachers can use strategies like choral reading, requiring full sentences, summarizing previous lessons, and incorporating academic vocabulary. For deeper engagement, methods like comparing ideas, using the Frayer Model, and applying the "notice, wonder, create" technique are effective. Extending discussions further can involve protocols like text-to-text comparisons and the "final word" discussion. https://lnkd.in/gbySuJpB #ClassroomDiscussion #StudentEngagement #TeachingStrategies - #edutopia

PhD Candidate (Arts and Creativity in kindergarten) | HKPFS holder | Editorial Assistant | Registered Kindergarten Teacher |
The notion of creativity is included in the Hong Kong kindergarten curriculum framework. However, despite the fact that creativity is a complex and multifaceted notion, the curriculum does not clearly define what creativity means in relation to 3- to 6-year-old children. Stakeholders may have different understandings of creativity, possibly leading to difficulties in implementing this notion into practice. In this study, using the 4P's model (Rhodes, 1961), Dr. Alfredo Bautista and I explored how teachers, principals, and teacher educators defined the notion of creativity.
