‘The growth in access to and the use of digital technologies has allowed cyberbullying to flourish, allowing perpetrators to remain anonymous and pose significant challenges for detection and remediation.’ In this series, we take a look at some further readings available on a particular topic, including open access research papers from various online databases, and Teacher archive content you might not have come across yet. This month, we’re looking at cyberbullying and online safety.

‘…boys’ behaviour and attitudes had changed towards women and girls; women reported an uptick in general sexism, targeted sexual harassment, and … male supremacy type behaviour’. As an educator, you may be aware that misogynistic thinking has increased among young boys recently. So, what can teachers do to tackle misogyny in their classrooms, and what can leaders do to create safer spaces? These are the questions a new 2-year research project hope to answer. Steven Kolber is an experienced teacher and has been reflecting on his own practice in relation to the widespread usage of AI.
