The series, based on the iconic Xbox franchise, takes place in the same fictional universe that debuted in the very first Halo video game. The series chronicles a 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant. In the second season, Master Chief John-117 (Pablo Schreiber) “leads his team of elite Spartans against the alien threat known as the Covenant,” according to Paramount. The series stars Pablo Schreiber, Natascha McElhone, Jen Taylor, Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Natasha Culzac, Olive Gray, Yerin Ha, Bentley Kalu, Kate Kennedy, Charlie Murphy and Danny Sapani. Halo is one of the most successful gaming franchises in history with over $6 billion in revenue and more than 82 million copies sold worldwide. The TV series, produced by Showtime in association with 343 Industries and Amblin Television. Steven Kane and Steven Spielberg are executive producers on the series alongside Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey for Amblin Television in partnership with 343 Industries. What a rush it was to take the stage at Washington’s during FoCoMX! I couldn’t see everyone in the house, but felt the energy — and the love! Thanks so much to Fort Collins Musicians Association and Washington’s for having us. We had a wonderful time (as did the audience, as I keep hearing good things from the community). When I first conceptualized the FoCo Motown Revue, I just wanted to get onstage while celebrating Classic Motown. Once I saw the overwhelming response to our shows, it became apparent that the band needs to be an ongoing concern. This is a 10-piece band. To keep it going, I realized that I’d need to take inspiration from Duke Ellington: “There is nothing to keeping a band together. You simply have to have a gimmick, and the gimmick I use is to pay them money!” So, I had to ultimately arrive at the conclusion that the band has to be run as a business (a side business, but a business nonetheless). That means defining who we are, what we’re about and how we’re going to engage with our audience. It also means building relationships in new spaces — especially that of corporate events. There’s a contender in the wings, however, in the form of Billie Eilish’s “Lunch.” Based on sales and streaming data captured by the Official Charts Company at the halfway stage, “Espresso” is pouring it on for what could be a fourth consecutive stint at No. 1. The top new release will belong to Billie Eilish with “Lunch,” arriving at No. 2 on the Official Chart Update. “Lunch” is fewer than 1,500 chart units away from “Espresso” in second place. “Lunch” is lifted from Eilish’s third studio album Hit Me Hard And Soft (Interscope), which, as previously reported, is currently outselling the rest of the top 5 combined and should give her a third-consecutive No. 1. If “Lunch” has a feeding frenzy in the second half of the U.K. chart week, Eilish could snag a relatively rare double. Two more cuts from Eilish’s Hit Me Hard And Soft could also crack the top 10 – “Chihiro” (at No. 7) and “Birds Of A Feather” (No. 10). If those tracks hold their course, the U.S. pop phenomenon’s tally of U.K. top 10 appearances would lift to 12, including No. 1s with 2020 release “No Time to Die,” which debuted at the top for the biggest-ever opening week for a Bond theme, and 2023’s Barbie Movie theme “What Was I Made For.” Behind the tasty 1-2 is Shaboozey’s country number “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” which is forecast to complete the podium, holding at No. 3. It’s one of three U.S. country songs in the midweek top 10, ahead of Post Malone and Morgan Wallen’s “I Had Some Help” (down 3-4 via American Dogwood/Empire) and Dasha’s “Austin” (holding at No. 9 via Warner Records). Here's the thing: not everyone experiences nerves in the same way. Some might have sweaty palms, while others might feel their heart racing. Personally, I sometimes struggled with a shaky knee before when performing. (Giving up high heels helped with that!) Everybody has different little stumbling blocks. So think about what those are for you and then come up with solutions to get comfortable with them so that you can still perform at your best even in these situations. I have such a wide taste in music. Like seriously, if we've never talked music, we should. This live performance by Black Sabbath from 1970 is so amazing. Thanks to Greg Dohler for bringing it up in conversation over lunch today. Greg's a great photographer and friend, and it was great to commiserate about this awesome performance. What does this have to do with business? Black Sabbath was panned by the critics of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Rolling Stone said they were "Like Cream! But worse." But watch this film, and you'll see that from a performance point of view, they're amazing. They were operating on a different level and totally misunderstood by the prevailing opinions. Isn't that our dream as business owners? To press beyond, to be on the cutting edge of our industry? To innovate and grow? Final thought: if my dream as a business owner had a soundtrack, I'd definitely want Bill Ward playing the drums. Good gravy!

What do Michael Jordan 🏀 and an 80s goth rock band 🎸 have in common? The ability to build a winning team, and being able to adapt. A winning team is greater than the sum of its parts. It didn’t hurt that MJ had the greatest rebounder of all time, but teams with equal or greater talent have struggled to win championships. The Cult is a goth rock band 🎸 the rose to prominence in the 80s and are still touring today. For 4 decades, they’ve been bringing fans out to rock. The Police is one of the best selling bands of the 80’s, and was stacked with some of the greatest musicians of our time, but their inability to work together broke the band up prematurely. Know your team, and know how to get the most out of them. 👬👭🧑🤝🧑👫🙌🏿🙌 Adapting is key. If you don’t adapt, you won’t succeed. To beat the Bad Boys Pistons 💀🏀⛹🏾♂️, MJ and the Bulls had to adapt. I love 311, but they definitely struggled to adapt their music to wide appeal over the years. They maintained their core audience with some expansion, but their new albums struggled to resonate with audiences. If you want to build long-term success, build a winning team and be willing to adapt. This takes more than hiring the right people. It takes good data to act on, and a digital infrastructure to facilitate experimentation and innovation.
