Honoring Human Rights Day: Strengthening Nonprofits for a Fairer, More Just World 🌍 Today, we recognize Human Rights Day—a reminder of our shared responsibility to protect and promote fundamental rights for all. Nonprofits play a vital role in this mission, often at the front lines of addressing inequality, protecting the vulnerable, and advocating for human dignity. 🔹 As nonprofits grow, having a strong financial foundation ensures they can carry out their mission more effectively, respond to urgent needs, and expand their reach. Here are some key ways we can support human rights-driven nonprofits: Build Sustainable Funding – Sustainable financial planning allows organizations to support critical programs, from housing and food access to advocacy and protection. Prioritize Transparency – Clear financial processes strengthen trust with funders, communities, and those served, reinforcing their commitment to accountability and human rights. Invest in Capacity Building – Capacity building helps organizations handle challenges, grow impact, and make a lasting difference. By equipping nonprofits with the financial tools and strategies they need, we empower them to focus on creating meaningful change and advancing human rights. Let’s work together toward a future where every organization has the resources they need to uphold dignity and justice for all. #HumanRightsDay #NonprofitFinance #SocialImpact #FinancialSustainability #MissionDriven #NonprofitLeadership #JusticeForAll

Nonprofit leaders: Can you pass Gen Z’s transparency test? In CauseVox's recent whitepaper on generational giving differences, one statistic demands attention: 38% of Gen Z givers said they wanted “clear insight into how funds are utilized” before giving, compared to only 29% of Boomers. Transparency is no longer optional; it's a necessity. Gen Z has grown up in the world of deepfakes and competing, un-fact-checked headlines, so they demand greater accountability and clarity from the organizations they support. True transparency isn’t simply providing financial reports on your website. It’s building trust at every step along the donor’s journey. Honesty not only establishes credibility but also guides donors toward deeper engagement. Be direct about how their contributions will be used. Share authentic stories, communicate both successes and challenges, and invite donors to be active participants in your mission. How are you embracing transparency in your organization? #NonprofitTransparency #GenZ #DonorEngagement

Strengthening democracy requires immediate solutions within a long-game approach. @She Should Run is pursuing exactly that by working to dramatically increase the number of women who are considering a run for office. I’ve served on the She Should Run Community Council since the Fall of 2023 and Im so proud to support the critical work their team is doing to grow women’s political leadership. If you’re eager to get involved too, I strongly encourage you to join our monthly giving program, Team250K. https://lnkd.in/g3QW3xzS Women don’t just decide to run for office overnight. On average, it takes more than 4 years! This is why monthly donors are so crucial to She Should Run’s work. When you become a member of Team250K, you’re helping support our mission to get more women on the ballot–because when women run, they win, and when women lead, we’re all the better for it. Plus, when you sign up for a new monthly donation by today (July 15), She Should Run will send you a free gift as a thank-you! Join Team250K now and let’s support Women Running for office together: https://lnkd.in/g3QW3xzS

We’re proud to launch the Better Giving Manifesto, https://loom.ly/1ucmtUc a powerful statement that outlines our mission to support nonprofits in achieving financial independence and equality. In the manifesto, we assert three key rights for nonprofits: 💪 The Right to Financial Self-Sufficiency – Nonprofits should have the freedom to grow sustainable financial reserves and diversify funding streams to ensure long-term success. 🌍 The Right to Equal Opportunity – Every nonprofit, regardless of size or location, deserves access to the same technology, financial services, and education. 🛠️ The Right to Organizational Autonomy – Nonprofits should focus on their mission, without the burden of excessive administration or external limitations. It’s time to make a change. We invite you to read the manifesto and join us in empowering nonprofits to thrive financially: Better Giving Manifesto. Join us at our free live webinar on Oct 2nd to find out more. https://loom.ly/D-xZrLk

Philanthropy is commitment to people's wellbeing and to community. Whatever gifts you have - energy, time, money, connections - are valuable to the causes that matter most to you. More top takeaways of the Delaware Bankers Association Women Connect Philanthropy Ages and Stages panel: 1. Impact is collective: the combined gifts of everyone who gives make things happen. (And philanthropy is a family affair!) 2. For organizations looking for philanthropists: Lead with the story, not the ask. What are you doing that people would want to support? 3. Boards should represent the communities they serve - so if you are an individual that cares for a cause, ask to join! And if you're on a board, consider the barriers and reasons for your community to participate. 4. Open communication - without avoiding conflict but with respect - is a critical foundation for effective collaboration among a diverse group committed to the same purpose. Final thoughts: Badia Weeks: "Take up space. Demonstrate interest. Advocate for what you can bring to the table to advance the mission you care about." Tara Bolinski, CTFA: "Find the thing you're passionate about, give what you can and integrate it into your life, and don't feel bad about what you 'should' or could be doing." Lynne Howard: "Everyone can do something." #AlwaysLearning #WomenInBusiness #philanthropy
