Meeting two-time Olympic gold medalist Teun de Nooijer, often hailed as the Johan Cruyff of hockey, together with my cofounder Anton Zhelyazkov, was a great experience. Teun shared a powerful insight on what it takes to create a truly high-performing team: "Do you run your tackle back for each other? You have a role, but you must create something and align it with your teammates. Then you can take over each other's roles. Teams were often almost as good in the finals; the mutual alignment and solving things together made the difference. The connection between each other. You train your physicality, technique, etc. Train often. But you also had to train off the field. Get to know each other - each other's strengths and weaknesses, and where you need help. Get your blind spots on the table and ensure everyone aligns. Putting your vulnerabilities on the table is normal and decisive in sports but less so in companies. That is difficult; people seek certainty. Sustainable performance… becoming a champion once can be luck, but five times in a row and two gold medals..." This conversation underscored the importance of trust, vulnerability, and deep connection in building and sustaining high-performing teams. It’s not just about individual skills but about how we synchronize, adapt, and uplift each other, both in sports and in business. At 10x.Team we embody these principles, continuously searching for ways to improve our performance and the teams we are part of, delivering exceptional outcomes. #HighPerformance #Teamwork #Leadership #Inspiration #TeunDeNooijer #Olympian #BusinessLeadership #TeamDynamics #SustainableSuccess #10x #olympian #10xteam #futureofwork #fractionalwork
