Construction of the new Cave Hill Road pedestrian underpass is gathering pace.

In response to the growing demand for smaller lot sizes, our client Sunbury Hills Pty Ltd requested additional lots within the Everley development. We accommodate such requests promptly due to our efficient systems and processes, however limitations arise when dealing with narrow nature strips that contain services, street trees, and vehicle crossovers. In such situations, Taylors offer solutions that maintain our desired outcomes without compromising the aforementioned. Here is an illustrative example: Initially, the pod layout featured four lots. Our client requested an extra lot, as shown in the middle image. However, strict requirements for pram crossings, vehicle crossovers, parking bays, and drainage pits made this impossible. Here's a bird's eye view of the progress made on our Roath Park Cycleway scheme for Cardiff Council. Significant improvements have been made around the Pen-Y-Lan Library and Community Centre, including the installation of an attenuation tank for better drainage, upgrades to surface water systems, and enhancements to the road leading into the library car park. The entrance to the car park now incorporates two-way traffic flow, making it more accessible. The formation of the new shared-use cycleway on the recreation ground between the library and Alder Road is complete. This area now features new street light infrastructure and a drainage system, enhancing safety and usability for cyclists and pedestrians alike. In Pen Y Wain Place, we’ve focused on enhancing pedestrian and cyclist safety with major improvements. These include junction regeneration, footpath widening, new crossings, and paving slab renewal. Additionally, a new buildout at the bus stop has been installed to improve accessibility. The kerb has been realigned at the Ninian Road/Wellfield Road Junction, and tactile paving for the new crossing's layout has been installed. We have also renewed traffic signal ducting and drainage, completing the first phase of the junction realignment. Communication ducting along Wellfield Road has been installed, enabling better connectivity in the area and facilitating a wider infrastructure upgrade. This ducting will continue up Pen-Y-Lan Road, further extending these improvements. On Ty Draw Road, the removal of existing traffic calming measures is ongoing. Once removal is complete, new measures, including a raised table, will be installed to improve pedestrian crossing and maintain traffic calming effects. Tree maintenance within the park has been successfully completed. This involved tasks such as limb removal, pruning, crown lifting, and hazardous tree clearing, all overseen by an arborist to ensure the long-term health of the trees and the safety of the park. #TeamKB #Cardiff #Civilengineers #Construction #Publicrealm #Infrastructure
