Boeing 757 Transatlantic Flights is now rarity on such routes. The Boeing 757, once a staple for transatlantic flights, is now a rarity on such routes. In November 2024, United Airlines operates limited transatlantic services with the 757, including daily flights from Washington-Dulles to Dublin and Newark to Edinburgh. Additionally, United offers flights from Newark to Tenerife South Airport in the Canary Islands. Icelandair, traditionally a significant operator of transatlantic 757 flights, has reduced its use of the aircraft on these routes. The airline is transitioning to newer models like the Airbus A321LR, resulting in fewer 757-operated flights between Iceland and North America. Mesa Airlines, Inc. has entered into a sale-and-leaseback agreement with United Airlines involving all eighteen Embraer E175s currently owned by the regional carrier. Delta will take on Qantas and local rival United to fly from Melbourne to Los Angeles at the end of 2025. The new LAX service will operate three times weekly from December using the carrier’s fleet of 275-seat A350-900 aircraft.
