Rohan Bopanna becoming the oldest Grand Slam Champion in the Australian Open is making headlines today, but I believe how we create spaces in our lives from these significant wins is what truly matters at the end of the day. Let’s break down this victory into lessons that it teaches us in the long run. ▶️ When we consider this monumental achievement, it reminds us of the popular saying, “Age is just a number,” and where is the lie? Age is indeed just a number. If you want to achieve something and are equally passionate about it, then, no matter what, you are going to make it happen for yourself. ▶️ Determination and discipline are the two D’s that will propel you forward in life. Rohan Bopanna’s win is not merely about being the oldest to achieve this; it stems from a strong sense of determination and discipline. If these elements are included in your life, they bring you closer to your goal. ▶️ The third and most important lesson that this win imparts is, “Consistency is the key.” Yes, when we discuss clinching this victory at the age of 43, it comes with a lot of consistency and commitment, which become the two C’s of achieving success in your life. These lessons are not restricted to sports but are applicable throughout your life. Regardless of your pursuits, it is essential to glean lessons from everything that happens around you or in your life and make the most of it. They are excellent candidates for the workplace. They bring wisdom and experience and can be mentors to younger employees. They can extrapolate and fill in gaps in knowledge because they have years of experience to draw upon. And they don't need hand holding; they are resourceful. They are motivated to contribute and be relevant in today's world. Other nations value and respect their seniors but in the U.S. we discard our seniors. This thinking has to change as we have a tsunami of baby boomers who are mentally and physically fit and eager to keep on working. Let's employ them and pair them with younger workers who can learn from them. COACH T NOTE: ✍️🏆🏅 Winning Championships is hard to do every Season. Championships are rare, that is why they should be cherished when you Win them! I think to measure where You are is look at what You do after you Win a Championship. Since Winning our Championship in 2022 We compiled a 33-8 (.804) record. That included a 20-4 follow up Season in 2023. What was impressive is We lost key pieces from that Championship Team and in 2024 We only had 3 Players remaining off our 2022 Championship Team. Another key factor is We Won Championships with 2 totally different groups. Different times, eras, and leagues. This shows THE SYSTEM and THE PROCESS works!! The way We do things works. That truly shows our effectiveness. It is the measuring rod for certain. Keep moving it forward! 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏅
