This person will be responsible for reviewing new vendor applications submitted by boutiques and specialty retail stores around the world. After reviewing applications, this person will reach out to applicants to congratulate them for qualifying to sell our products in their stores! Finally, this person will give an enticing and detailed overview of our products and set up the new vendor's online account and process their first order!In addition to showcasing our products to new vendors, this rockstar will be responsible for assisting existing vendors with common questions and concerns about their orders. The ideal candidate for this role should be driven by results through effective sales, and eager to make customers happy through outstanding customer service.To Summarize, You Will:? Sales Team Sunday - Early in my sales career, I was smacked around by an old dog of a sales manager, I will call him "Mel". I was working the Al Bundy Shoe gig, 17 years old, at Nordstroms, making great commission and more importantly getting amazing sales skillsets from many folks now long gone. "Does this shoe look good on me?" she asked. I replied, "To be honest, I think the size 7 might be a better fit." Mel grabbed me when I next came to the back to get the size 7. "Have you been lying to the customer out there?" "No", I said back, "Mel, what are you talking about?" He took a long drag off his cigarette, and said, "When you tell a customer "Can I be honest with you?", it suggests you may be lying on a normal basis to them. Wipe that crutch phrase out of your vocabulary. You could have said, 'Let's try a size 7 to make sure you have the best fit', or anything else that suggest you are helping, which is what you are doing! The customer won't register what you said on the surface but the opposite of honest is lying. Were you were lying prior?" That moment wiped that phrase out of my vocabulary for life. I have not used it since. While it can argued its just an innocent word use, think about what you just said. Same with, "to be straight up with you" "to be brutally frank" "can I be truthful with you?" Little adjustments to your sales process will bring huge benefits. #honesty #salesdevelopment #oldschool #salescoaching #wordsmatter
