Here's a question we've been asked a few times recently..."If my employee does not follow the procedure for clocking on and off, can I refuse to pay them?" Under the Fair Work Act 2009, employees must be paid for the hours they work. Withholding payment could breach the Act and lead to legal issues. 🔍 Instead, address the issue by: Reminding and training employees on the importance of following procedures. Implementing a process for reporting missed clock-ins or outs. Taking disciplinary action if necessary, but never withholding pay.
