▶▶▶ Step 5 in our #verifiedviewmontages series: Camera Matching, Rendering & Post Production. In the camera-matching phase, we process the data from our baseline photographic site visit - camera coordinates, angle, and direction - into a virtual camera in 3D Studio Max. This ensures the proposed development's size, position, and height in each VVM is correct to an accuracy of 0.33% i.e. +/- 1mm on an A3 print. Next, we render the view in high resolution and overlay it on the baseline photo using Adobe Photoshop, double-checking mathematical accuracy against marked reference points. 👉 Post-production Ultimately, the VVM specialist establishes which existing features, such as buildings, will appear in front or behind the proposed development and mask accordingly. In case the scheme is not visible due to foreground features, we highlight its boundaries with a red outline for clarity. Guidelines for 50mm focal lengths are also applied to the final VVM images which are produced from baseline photography that were taken wider than this focal length. This is quite common in order to see the proposed development in its surrounding context, particularly in close-range VVMs. Our final post in the #methodology series is coming soon: The results. Don't miss it! #3DDB
