Work continues on the 86-unit co-living development at the former Kiely’s Pub in Donnybrook. The scheme will also feature communal kitchens, living/dining spaces, and a range of amenities, including a courtyard, rooftop terrace, co-working areas, and more. During the planning stages, we provided verified view montages, interior CGIs, 3D floor plans, and a BRE Daylight & Sunlight Assessment. Despite challenges, our 3D planning solutions played a key role in the submission to DCC, helping our client secure a positive outcome. 🚨 Work continues on the 428-unit RB Central LRD in Sandyford, developed by Comer Group Ireland. In addition to the residential units, the scheme includes a 486-sqm crèche with outdoor play areas, a multi-purpose space, laundry facilities, a co-working area, an exercise zone, and various amenity spaces. We provided presentation photomontages and architectural CGIs for an amendment submission, and most recently for a compliance submission. Navigation Square, which began construction in 2017, is the largest office development in Cork. After supporting our client during the planning stages, we were appointed to create an off-plan virtual tour to help them secure tenants before its completion. One of the key challenges in producing this tour, especially for a project of this scale, is ensuring a smooth and engaging user experience. With such a large floor area, it’s crucial to prevent users from getting lost while also optimising the tour for mobile devices, as shown in the video below. 📢 Project news: Plans have been submitted to Dun-Laoghaire Rathdown County Council for a new 73-unit residential development in Sandyford, Co. Dublin. The project will involve the demolition of two existing buildings to make way for a mix of houses and apartment blocks. Our team provided accurate 3D visuals and a comprehensive daylight and sunlight assessment, which were included in the planning application. Interestingly, the assessment found that some neighbouring windows and gardens would actually benefit from improved sunlight due to the removal of large evergreen trees on the site. Approved earlier this year following a public appeal, this Glenveagh development in Mullingar will include 181 residential units, comprising semi-detached and terraced houses, maisonettes, and apartments. From the early stages, 3DDB worked with Glenveagh Homes to effectively demonstrate the development’s potential impact on the surrounding environment to the local authority. The new £340M Belfast Grand Central Station has recently opened to the public. Located on Grosvenor Road, it currently offers bus services, with rail services to follow upon full completion. Once fully operational, the station will have the capacity to serve twenty million passengers annually, expand bus stands to 26, and double its railway platforms to eight. It will also relocate the Enterprise service from Belfast Central and integrate seamlessly with the Belfast Rapid Transit (BRT) system. The images below are from an architectural animation our team produced, showcasing the sequence of construction activities around the hub, including road surface removal, new surfacing, updated markings, signage, and more. Matterport has announced a bunch of new features for its scanning technology. Two key updates the team here at 3DDB really enjoyed are: ▶️ Defurnishing: This tool allows users to remove all furniture from a scanned space with a single click. It provides a clear, empty view of a space, helping users visualise how their own furniture would fit. ▶️ Merge Spaces: A much-anticipated feature, the merge tool enables users to combine multiple spaces into a single tour. Previously, larger and more complex tours required separate models, but now they can be merged into one seamless experience. Check the video below to see these new features in action.
