HYDROCARBON: Curtiss-Wright Corporation has signed a technology cooperation agreement with Petrobras to design, manufacture, test and provide operational support for a subsea canned motor boosting system to be deployed mudline in the Campos Basin, Brazil. The two companies are working jointly to develop a subsea boosting system for unprocessed hydrocarbon fluid consisting of a mixture of oil, gas and particulates that will operate at a 1,500-meter water depth. The system will use Curtiss-Wright’s canned motor technology, as well as Petrobras’ expertise in flow assurance and offshore hydrocarbon production and processing, to ensure the subsea boosting system will perform according to field requirements. Curtiss-Wright’s canned motor pump technology is expected to enable reliable subsea production with fewer topside support systems, and also provide flexibility to deploy these systems on lighter weight, lower cost vessels, which are more readily available than the larger handling vessels required in today’s operations. This short video shows in a very summarized way a #FPSO #hookup and, at the end, the first risers connected, which represents beginning of #tiein process. I would like to share with you guys some knowledge in few words. This is how we connect her involved in connecting the FPSO to #subsea infrastructure, such as #wells, #pipelines, #risers, and #umbilicals, to start #production operations. Hookup is the physical connection of the FPSO to the subsea #equipment and #mooring systems. It includes installing and securing risers (flexible pipes or rigid pipes that transport #oil, #gas, or water from the seabed to the FPSO), umbilicals (cables that carry electrical power, signals, and hydraulic fluids), and mooring lines (chains or cables that anchor the FPSO in place). Tie-in is the integration of the subsea infrastructure with the FPSO’s topside processing facilities. Subsea pipelines and risers are connected to the FPSO’s #manifolds and processing systems. It ensures that oil, gas, and water can be safely transported from the subsea wells to the FPSO for #processing, #storage, and #offloading. These two important processes are considered critical steps in bringing an FPSO into full operational service, enabling it to receive #hydrocarbons from subsea wells, process them, store the produced oil and/or gas, and offload it to shuttle tankers or export pipelines. The Monstrous 8th Generation Transocean Drillship - Deepwater Titan letting rip. Constructed by Sembcorp Marine based on its Jurong Espadon 3T design. The dual-derrick drillship is the first-ever unit delivered with two 20,000-psi blowout preventers (BOPs), well-control, riser, and piping systems for high-pressure and high-temperature drilling and completion operations. Like its sister rig, the Deepwater Atlas delivered in June 2022. Both drillships were ordered by Transocean back in 2014 for a price of $540 million each. According to Sembcorp, the Jurong Espadon 3T is designed for enhanced safety, efficiency and sustainability, incorporating greener features for energy efficiency, fuel optimization and reduced emissions consistent with the industry’s goal of contributing to a lower carbon future. Deepwater Titan is well into a five-year, $830 million contract with Chevron in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The Deepwater Atlas is under contract to Beacon Offshore Energy in the U.S. Gulf drilling production wells for its Shenandoah field development in the Walker Ridge area. The Shenandoah program comprises two phases. Average daily revenue for its ultra-deepwater fleet increased to $432,000 per day in the fourth quarter 2023 compared with $360,000 per day in the first quarter. The Deepwater Titan was a large contributor to the uptick in revenues. The Deepwater Titan and Deepwater Atlas, are the only 20M 8th Gen Drillships owned by Transocean. Both rigs are operating in 20,000-psi fields in GoM. Thanks to Titan’s five-year contract with Chevron, Transocean was able to raise $525 million from debt investors. The transaction helped prop up Transocean’s share price as the drilling market improved. Transoceans Deepwater dominance is obvious and long may it continue, the next few years for most of the Deepwater contractors is looking good and the majority have a healthy baglog to prove it. #drillship #drilling #oilandgad #innovation
