I came across the term "mattering" quite by accident and it resonated especially as I continue my work on Trauma Informed Coaching. "Mattering" is about our need to feel significant and valued. It's more than just contributing; it’s about knowing who we are, and understanding that our presence and our contributions are important. This need affects our well-being, relationships, and overall satisfaction with life. Read about why mattering matters. It's not just about if you are valued, but that you feel valued both in the workplace and our relationships by Dorothy Dalton via 3Plus International https://buff.ly/3xVl4Sq

As a child you may have had a vivid imagination, your "head in the clouds", maybe an imaginary life with imaginary friends. As kid having an imagination is considered to be healthy. The imagination can help with problem solving, sorting emotions, even build language skills. Imaginary play usually decreases or stops all together between the ages of 10&12. Is your imagination still attempting to create safe spaces for you? Are you imagining others to be who you want them to be? https://lnkd.in/eS9B_fgQ Somatic Trauma Informed Coaching

Are you having the same row over and over (with your partner, kid or colleague💁🏻♀️)? Do you get to the end and think 'how did we get here - again?' And yet you do feel a little smug when you get the sense that it confirms what you know to be true (e.g. 'I can't trust anyone', 'I'm better off alone', 'I do everything around here', 'after all I do for them', or 'if it wasn't for them'!! It sounds like you're playing a psychological game to me. Eric Berne defines these as a way of getting our needs met while avoiding intimacy. They can be exhaistimg but ultimately prove we're right, just not in an authentic way. What are your thoughts as you ready this? If you're interested in learning more about the key pieces of Transactional Analysis theory and how to put it into action in coaching people toward living closer to their truth and real, this is covered well in the tripple certified Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Coaching which starts a week on Tuesday. When you're ready to work at a deeper level in a trauma responsive way, you can learn more and sign up in the link in the comments 👇🏼 #coachtraining #coachingcertification #transactionalanalysis #therapeutic #coachingskills #traumainformed #traumaresponsive

The greatest act of agency is to say yes to yourself. In small, ordinary, consistent ways that take you towards what is meaningful, values-aligned, and purpose-led to you. Grateful to have been interviewed by my teacher, course supervisor, Orenda mentor and utterly wonderful human being, Athena Phillips, Founder, Integrative Trauma Treatment Center + Kalos Continuing Education Platform, and Founder, The Orenda Project! Watch our conversation here: https://lnkd.in/eAiyUMAV When I first qualified as an ICF-certified Coach in 2021, that sense of homecoming started to kick in within me: a career transition that would finally be about a levelling up within vs. a constant hustle to get in front of people and processes that would decide if I could or would level up on the outside. Still, I felt that inner call to continue to deepen my coaching skillset and niche so that my lived experience and subsequent post-traumatic growth could be of service, but with appropriate coach training. It would take until 31 Dec 2022 when I knew it had be a big OH YES to continuing professional development and running headlong towards trauma recovery coaching! For those of you who know the imposter and inner critic AND understand these are parts of yourself who want nothing more than to protect you from ['them'/ that shame/ getting hurt/ making an a$$ of yourself etc]... What would the world gain if you said YES to what you really really want to do? What if you said YES even if the path ahead was uncertain? What would you say YES to if everything were possible? Take it from this human being who 5 years ago was still finding her voice and ability to string sentences in PTSD... Say yes to yourself. There are people and spaces who are safe and will welcome your growing capacity for self-expression. Here, you are always enough. Not too much, too sensitive, too talkative, too... You are always worthy of love and belonging. Watch my interview with Athena on my journey of becoming a certified Trauma Recovery Coach. 💚 If you are currently working with a psychotherapist or in counselling and would like coaching too, to build forwards, DM me and let's talk. #rememberyourwhy #valuesbasedleadership #goalsetting #traumainformedcoaching
