We love our community! These neighborhood friends held a lemonade and baked goods stand to raise money for 4 Paws for Ability and our service dogs. They raised over $750! 🍋🐾 These Junior Donors took the initiative to help the kids who may need a life-saving service dog. When life handed these kids lemons, they chose to change lives! Founder of Little Green Sock Project | Supporting Local Children in Need | Tackling Child Poverty Through Sustainable Reuse | Empowering Families & Protecting the Planet
TW: DOMESTIC ABUSE ‘The perpetrator destroyed the children’s toys’ (referral partner) It’s not uncommon for perpetrators to threaten to/destroy, block access to belongings and finances. This is why the material support we provide is vital to help a family in that immediate phase and throughout their recovery (because their situation won’t be improving overnight!). We were able to quickly respond to this referral with age appropriate toys, clothing footwear and equipment. Shockingly 29% of our referrals are for families fleeing abuse, through our partners in health and social care Trafford Council and TRAFFORD DOMESTIC ABUSE SERVICES, we can make sure families get the practical items they need so they can focus on their recovery. Your support through donating stuff, volunteering for us, and your financial donations ensure that we can continue to provide this vital service to our community. #communityaction #Domesticabuse #Smallcharity #Trafford #Littlegreensockproject #breakfreefromabuse

This is crucial. Also professionals in different fields should learn to listen to signals when to recognize abusive situations, and learn what to do in these situations.
Businesses in all sectors should be concerned about discovering workers who are victims of modern slavery in their supply chains. It is a growing problem. That is why Hope for Justice launched Slave-Free Alliance to help businesses protect themselves through expert consultancy, training, policy recommendations and more. All profits are reinvested in charitable anti-slavery projects. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/dveazKi

If you’ve been around Womack for any amount of time, you’ve likely heard us talk about our Heart to Care. What does this mean to us? Our Heart to Care means actively making our community a better place, selecting charity partners that hit close to home for our employees, and putting time and resources towards the greater good. It means that kindness and compassion are non-negotiables. It means linking arms to contribute to something bigger than ourselves. Our Heart to Care is an inseparable part of who we are. Local registered charity helping young people to cope with the grieving process brought on by the death of someone they love.
The Children's Bereavement Centre, a small charity, making a BIG impact... In 2023, 💓 1,300 local children, young people and their parents/carers benefitted from 1:1 bereavement counselling and/or group activities 💓 153 professionals and parents/carers benefitted from bereavement and loss training to better support 100's of locally bereaved families 💓177 of telephone advice and guidance was provided 💓 100% of children and their families that accessed support felt they had benefitted We received only 3% of our income from statutory sources (this is not definite for future years and is only for our Bassetlaw service). The other 97% relies on donations from the community, local businesses, or Trusts. Our events and challenges are a crucial part of these donations, raising the funds we need to continue to operate and support local children and their families during one of the most devastating times in their lives. Thank you to all that support our small charity. Please see our website to see upcoming events and challenges: https://lnkd.in/ev-jeHA7 #smallcharityweek #community #bereavementsupport
