A few weeks ago, Team 413 had the opportunity to work with the amazing Anna Sparks from the The Sparks Group . We completed individual assessments of our Identity Maturation Framework, then we were able to regroup as a team to learn about each stage. We finished our session in small groups to discuss where we think the overall company sat within this framework and where we would like to see the company sit in the future. We were able to learn a lot about ourselves, 413 as a whole, and help create a path of where we would like to see 413 grow. #growthmindset #dothework #smallbusiness #futuregoals

One of the number questions we get asked is when and how we started. Preston Unck’s vision from the beginning has been BIG and as we approach 3 years, it’s amazing to look back at the progress/growth. We’re just getting started! #TeeBox #growthisbusiness

From software sales to founder of a golf business growing across the nation, I’ve learned the following principles: 1. Follow your dreams. Don’t be scared to break free from the golden handcuffs. 2. You don’t have to start a big “tech” company to be successful. Start something and be willing to risk… everything 😂 3. Remember a pay check is temporary. Money isn’t life. Life is life. If you have something special, go for it. 4. Don’t not do something because you’re afraid it won’t work out. Buck up and go for it. But make sure it’s valid… ish. 5. You don’t have to be rich to start a business. You’ll learn quickly If you have a good thing. People will want to join and possibly help fund it. 6. Smarts are important… but hard work and grit from a founder is more important. I’ve hired a lot of smart people who know angles of business a lot more than I do. But I will always fuel their energy and passion by example, gratitude and vision. 7. Have a big picture vision, but be ready to pivot. Opportunity breeds opportunity when you hustle and help others be successful. 8. Don’t be afraid to think big and take risks to go big. Calculating risk is important, but doubt your doubts and dream big. We’re embarking on a national franchise program with some incredible partners such as Trackman and similar global brands. Tee Box is full of believers and people who want to “Inspire people through the game of golf”. We do this one person at a time at soon to be hundreds of facilities across the US. Lastly, I don’t say this to bost.. rather hopefully encourage the Preston years ago that wanted to do this but didn’t have the courage to… DREAM BIG. Peace ✌️

Each and every one of us needs to be involved in the fight against MND, and our CEO, Fiona McIntosh, is leading by example. She was one of the first to put her hand up to be bucketed to help beat the Beast. With just a Bunnings Bucket, a Beanie and a willing teammate, she created her very own DIY Big Freeze. Let your actions speak louder than words and make your next team activity one that matters. Every business, big or small, can DO their bit and host their own DIY Big Freeze. It's defo '𝐓𝐡𝐞 '𝐇'' 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫' Gavin. I'm sure you guys are 'technically' all over it... but it's so much more. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 '𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥' 𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧... Clive Woodward captures it beautifully in his concept of Critical Non-Essentials - "What is it about your business and customer experience that differentiates you from the rest of the competition? It is important to remember that what a customer remembers about your business is not necessarily associated directly with your core offering. These ‘non-core’ areas can heavily influence your customers’ perceptions". '𝑪𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒋𝒖𝒅𝒈𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒔𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒅𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒚 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒆𝒙𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒅𝒐'. It may be a 'mad journey'... but customers love your kind of crazy! Happy 2024 #cultureiseverything #customerexperience #customerexcellence
Owner and Managing Director of Howarths l Chair of Trustees of The Howarth Foundation I Empowering 1000+ businesses to achieve greater success through their people
I was walking out of the office earlier this week and I’d had one of those days… A bit ‘meh’. As I was walking past reception on my way out, I casually asked Steph - “how did that meeting go?” Steph had been out to meet an ex-client. They’d been with us for 9 years, but last year had decided to leave us. I was gutted at the time. After 13 years, I still take every cancellation hard, and rightly so in my book. Steph told me, with a big smile on her face, that they’d decided to come back! They missed all that is ‘Howarths’ - the level of advice, the depth of service, the people, the family, the connection, the added value community. This felt as good to me as any bit of news I’d had that week in work. For a client to leave, go out to market and find someone else, and then come back to Howarths. This year, more than ever, I’m celebrating every win on this mad journey of growing a business. #Howarths #TheHowarthfoundation #peopleandculture
