Founder @ Rho Impact - Empowering Every Organization to Make an Impact | Founder @ Calibrate Partners - ESG Collective for the New Normal of Business | No BS JUST ESG
What a great way to cap off the day yesterday - working with the 9Zero Climate Innovation Hub crew and their tenant companies to dive deep into the "ins and outs" of "all things impact." Key concepts covered included both strategy and tactics for formalizing, quantifying, communicating and commercializing your impact. With a heavy hitter line up of climate thought leaders, including the likes of Tom Steyer and Julia Grinshpun, I'm beyond humbled and honored to have had the opportunity to share my own 2 cents to San Francisco's climate tech ecosystem of climate investors, innovators, researchers, policy makers, and consultants. A major thank you to Matthew Joehnk, Duncan Logan, Laura Kirkland, Will Hespe, and leaders who intended from throughout organizations such as International Institute of Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility, Cleantech Open, Positive Finance, Exygy, Ashoka - EDF Climate Corps Fellowship, Thruline Networks, Rhapsody Venture Partners, Center for Sustainable Finance and Private Wealth (CSP) North America, Bloom.pm (accelerator & skills development platform), Good.inc, Semios , Alargara, Active Ascent Partners LLC, Front Row Ventures and many more. Rho Impact. The new normal is already here. Let's get to work. #impact #impactsales #impactledgrowth #sustainabilitysales #emissionreduction #sustainablevalueproposition #esgcompliance #sustainablesupplychain #esgsupplier #scope3emissions #esgvaluechains #esgtech #climatetech #newnormal #impacteconomy

Do you know which sector is going to gain the traction of investors and VCs in the coming 5-10 years? The climate investing landscape has undergone a significant transformation in recent years, marked by impressive growth. Climate tech has emerged as a thriving sector for venture capital, with private market climate equity transactions surging from $75 billion in 2019 to $196 billion in 2022. All the sectors are intertwined with the climate and sustainability landscape and investors now recognize the need to transcend traditional verticals and address interconnected issues. Industries like infrastructure, energy, mobility, and agriculture, major contributors to greenhouse gas emissions, are being targeted collectively through cross-sectoral solutions. I attended a very engaging and insightful session on Climate Investment, by Clima sensei Himanshu Sharma , a Climate Tech Investor and an investment associate at Theia Ventures. He explained the stages of Climate tech investment in a very detailed way and how it is different from investing in other sectors. It was helpful to know about the investor’s mindset while investing in Climate tech and which areas in climate are the focus points for investors currently. Balancing financial returns with climate goals is no longer a trade-off, as recent research from EY reveals. The research shows that businesses taking decisive climate action often achieve higher-than-expected financial returns, with "pacesetter" companies, in particular, excelling in both emissions reductions and financial gains. Climate tech innovation needs to secure more funding to succeed and ultimately reach the goal of Paris Agreement. Thanks to The Sustainability Mafia for this like-minded community and Ahan Pujari and Anjana Krishnamurthy for facilitating the sessions and keeping our curiosity high throughout! #thesustainabilitymafia #climateeducation #startups #sustainability #climateinnovation

Our CEO, Todd Khozein, shares powerful insights on how the U.S. can lead the global climate tech transition, using New York's thriving ecosystem as a model. "Building a new market requires long-term continuity that can't be swayed by short-term incentives or shifting strategies. This is key to developing a collaborative innovation ecosystem," Todd explains. With $664M raised in 2023 and over 133,000 jobs created, the opportunity is huge—but it requires long-term vision and collaboration. 🌱 Impact Investing | Sustainable Development | Financial Activism | Volunteering 🌏 CFA UK Certificate in Impact Investing Candidate
A few weeks ago now I attended the Climate Collective's Climate Tech Investment Summit 2024: Summer Edition. It was a week of all things #ClimateTech and #ClimateTechInvestment but my favourite session was the opener... What does it take to invest in impactful climate technologies? 🌿 💻 💰 The answer? 💻 On the technology side: measurable and notable impact providing needed solutions to real world problems. 💰 On the VC side: innovative and flexible funding models that meet the support needs of the innovative solutions they seek to fund. Of course, it's a simple summary of a complex and hugely informative discussion. It was such a great event of learning and certainly put forward the case for India being fertile grounds for impact investing! 🇮🇳 👀 Huge thanks to Starlene Sharma from Green Artha for hosting, and the panellists Paula Mariwala from Aureolis Ventures, Mirik Gogri from Spectrum Impact, and Mark Kahn from Omnivore. Also a shoutout to my friends at Rho Impact, Project Frame and Prime Coalition whose impact modelling principles were mentioned by Starlene as a framework to identify impact potential in start-ups where impact is not yet measurable in realtime. #ImpactModelling #ClimateTechWeek #EarlyStageInvesting #IndiaForImpact #ImpactInvesting #ImpactModelling

Today on ImpactAlpha, Jessica Pothering is talking to six women-led funds that are working to grow and commercialize climate tech solutions. These fund managers are stepping into critical gaps in growth-stage financing, pushing climate solutions from proof of concept to real-world impact. The article highlights how a gender lens is not only creating more inclusive investment portfolios but also accelerating innovation in the climate tech space. It's #ClimateWeek in New York this week, and tomorrow, Heading for Change is teaming up with ImpactAlpha and UBS to show how investors are integrating gender and broader systems-level levers into their investment strategies to help them spot new market opportunities, accelerate their impact, and facilitate a just transition. I'll be running around Manhattan all week, learning from the incredible people and organizations who are working to make the case for the capital we need to tackle the climate crisis. If you see me, let’s connect - I'd love to talk about how we can more effectively make the case for urgent and intentional climate action. #ClimateWeekNYC #GenderLensInvesting #ClimateTech #ImpactInvesting #SustainableFinance
