This Tiny Dongle Could Change 5G Connectivity One of the world’s first #5G dongles that takes advantage of the latest power-efficient 5G standards. TCL Mobile’s Linkkey IK511 is a pocketable new 5G adapter that’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X35 5G Modem-RF system, which debuted last year as the first 5G modem to support the new NR-Light. There’s more to 5G than just raw speed. A higher capacity allows more #devices to stay connected in busy places, and low latency means that you get much fasters response time on all the little back-and-forth things that most of us do much more often such as instant messaging, checking social media, and receiving notifications. The result is that there are whole classes of devices that need 5G #connectivity, but can’t handle the power requirements of a smartphone or tablet 5G modem. Qualcomm’s X35 was initially heralded as a #5G modem chip to power the next generation of smartwatches. RedCap standard is still capable of delivering download speeds of up to 150Mbps and upload speeds reaching 50Mbps DigitalTrend

📍 Wi-Fi 7, over four times faster, opens the door to commercialization in Korea The Ministry of Science and ICT announced that it has completed the reallocation of frequencies for fixed and mobile broadcasting relays in the 6 GHz band for the commercialization of Wi-Fi 6E, and it is also pushing for institutional improvements for the introduction of Wi-Fi 7. Wi-Fi 7, which utilizes the same spectrum as Wi-Fi 6E and other previous standards, is known for potentially offering speeds up to 4.8 times faster than Wi-Fi 6/6E due to its doubled channel bandwidth compared to Wi-Fi 6E, improved modulation and streaming methods, and the introduction of MLO. Accordingly, the Ministry of Science and ICT plans to revise the technical standards (notification) to expand the bandwidth per channel from the current 160 MHz to 320 MHz to align with the Wi-Fi 7 standard by the first half of this year. Through this regulatory improvement, the commercialization of chipsets, smartphones, and other devices equipped with Wi-Fi 7 will not only enable citizens to enjoy high-quality Wi-Fi services in public institutions and daily life but also expand the application range of Wi-Fi beyond conventional areas like smartphones or laptops to various domains such as extended reality (XR) and industrial robots. 👉 Contact GCA: https://lnkd.in/gdhdhXBy #GCA #GCAKOREA #typeapproval #Homologation #KoreaCertification #KC #KCMark #KCcertification #KCEMC #KCElectronicProducts #KCSafety #WiFi #WiFi7 #Smartphone #laptop
