Well connected to the financial challenges that might raise the threshold for new entrants, small producers and the not very efficient manufacturers. I foresee some hiccups that might impact the 2027 forecast and some race for speeding up some circularity initiatives (recycling opportunities). In anycase, it seems that the Industry will be facing a quite interesting period from now till the end of this decade and begining of the next.

Who thinks the world might install 1.1 TW of solar power in 2027? Johannes Bernreuter does. And it is probable that the economic planners of the Chinese economy believe this as well, since they're funding the infrastructure to make it happen. A year and a half ago I wrote an article sharing LONGi Solar's opinion that we would be deploying 1 TW of solar in 2030, and to be honest, writing it felt a little bit heady. Who the heck is going to install all that capacity? Turns out, the human race is, and the evidence is clear in annual capacity deployed growth rates: 2020: 23.7% 2021: 24.6% 2022: 38.4% 2023: 63.8% Cumulatively, we've seen deployment volumes grow 250% from 2019's 118 GW to this year's projected 413 GW. Bernreuter projects 26.8%* growth going forward, starting from an estimation of 425 GW being deployed in 2023 - meaning: 2024 - 538.9 GW 2025 - 683.3 GW 2026 - 866.5 GW 2027 - 1.098 TW That's exponential growth folks. *see comment from Johannes - growth rate is actually 26.8%. Updated my numbers to match. #solar #business #change #renewableenergy

Taking batteries apart for the energy transistion - Exploring the core of sustainable technology by disassembling 18650 Li-Ion batteries. These powerhouses contain Nickel Cobalt Aluminium and Graphite electrodes, divided by a polypropylene separator together with an electrolyte. Understanding these components is crucial for advancing battery recycling and sustainability efforts in our industry. Within a Tesla - 3-4miles of battery material is required. Which mostly comes from: Lithium- Australia, China or Chile Nickel - Phillipines, Australia, Russia, China Cobolt - Democratic Republic of Congo, China, Russia, Cuba, & Australia Graphite - China Copper - Chile And Peru 85% of all material and refining is done within China. And has a risk to global economy and supply chain disruption, with resilience. Manufacturing know-how in the cell manufacturing, it’s starting with precision manufacturing technology from South Korea, China and Japan - the approach relies on Six Sigma and yield control systems linked to data and Lean processes. Simulation and closed loop systems rely on Quality and Inspection systems throughout the process. Join the conversation on innovative recycling practices and the future of energy storage. #EV #ElectricVehicles #Batteries #Cell #Manufacturing

#China accounted for three-quarters of global investments in #CleanTechnology manufacturing in 2023, down from 85% in 2022 as investment in the US and Europe grew strongly, particularly for #battery manufacturing, for which investments more than tripled in these regions, the International Energy Agency said May 6. Building domestic clean tech manufacturing capacity is a priority of both the US' Inflation Reduction Act and the EU's Net Zero Industry Act, with US investment in EV battery making amounting to $40 billion between 2020 and the third quarter of 2023.
