Memorabilia and the future Memorabilia can be a way to preserve our memories for future generations. They can help our children and grandchildren to learn about our lives and our experiences. For example, a person might create a scrapbook or photo album of their childhood. This scrapbook can help their children to learn about their parents' lives and to see what their parents were like as children. Similarly, a person might donate their memorabilia to a museum or historical society. This can help future generations to learn about the past and to see how people lived in different times. Memorabilia can be a valuable way to preserve our memories and connect with others. They can help us to understand our past, our identity, and the world around us.

We'd like to announce 🗣️ the WINNER of our art contest, "Scientific Symphonies: The 3Rs in Harmony": Celeste Shearer! Congratulations! The piece begins with chaotic music, jagged bar lines forming the #DNA base pairs, and a rainbow of watercolor splatter. Suddenly the music is reduced to cut time, the treble and bass staffs are consolidated into one, and the watercolor rainbow is reduced to only primary colors (with secondary colors where they naturally mix). Then the watercolor is refined to form a clean, rainbow-colored DNA backbone. The music becomes a simpler 2/4 time, and the staff is refined to form the DNA base pair lines. This later becomes further refined as the coloring becomes more like that of scientific DNA diagrams. Finally, the DNA strand is replaced with a mouse climbing atop the last measure of music, punctuated with a staccato marcato. We will be donating the winning piece with a monetary donation to MeHarry Medical College. 👏 See the top 3 winning pieces here: https://lnkd.in/e7UUZ5wu -- #preclinicalresearch #sciencecommunity

"Public Art in Review; Volume 1" by UAP | Art in public spaces plays a distinguishing role in our country’s history and culture. It reflects and reveals our society, enhances meaning in our civic spaces, and adds uniqueness to our communities. Public art humanizes the built environment. It provides an intersection between past, present, and future; between disciplines and ideas.
We are thrilled to announce the launch of Public Art in Review, Volume 1 (2019-2023.) Public Art in Review is not just a book; it's a unique journey through the world of public art. It's the culmination of years of celebration and exploration of excellence in public art, offering an engaging and accessible overview of this dynamic field. 5 years, 27 curators and over 58 artists and collectives. The book captures the past five years of the Best of Public Art initiative, supported by Artsy. Each book section will include a brief overview of the individual works reviewed by each curator, covering their origins, conceptual concerns, and public reception. Select members of the curatorium will also provide feature essays and interviews that will further elaborate on unique viewpoints and experiences, reflecting important themes and trends that have emerged through these commissioned artworks. Proceeds from book sales will be donated to non-profit organizations focusing on curatorial and arts advocacy: ICI (Independent Curators International) and National Association for the Visual Arts You can pre-order your copy now and get it delivered by September 2024. https://lnkd.in/dnsjD3bu #PublicArt #ArtBook #PublicArtinReview #ArtInReview #PreOrderNow #ThoughtLeadership
