Global Marketing Communications Director | Thought Leadership | Campaigns | Brand | Content | Reputation | McKinsey & Company | Freshfields | Linklaters
“50 years ago women couldn’t open a bank account without their father or husband’s permission.” That caught my eye and reading on I found the rest of Lucy Warwick-Ching’s article so interesting as behind its simple premise that financial services must cater to women better there will be so much change needed in this industry. As women gain greater control over a significant portion of global wealth, wealth managers are adjusting their services to suit their needs, leading to significant implications for how financial firms communicate and market their offerings in a more inclusive manner, steering clear of gender-coded language. This change requires wealth managers to customise their services, offering personalised financial planning and investment education to women clients. Marketers must understand women's diverse financial objectives, encompassing caregiving responsibilities and values-based investing, starting early, and extending through various life stages. Inclusive communication strategies, and a holistic approach to wealth planning that considers broader life goals and priorities are essential for cultivating enduring relationships and fostering confidence among women clients in the financial realm. Which other sectors will experience this level of change do you think? #Marketing #Inclusion #Diversity #WomenLeadership

The average woman saved less than half a man did in 2022, and a recent survey showed women were less likely to be invested in the stock market than their male counterparts. According to Tori Dunlap, a lot of the financial advice out there feels “bro-y” and out of touch with a young woman’s experience. So she launched Her First $100K, an education platform targeting women and other marginalized groups. “People want to feel seen and they want to feel heard. This kind of identity-focused personal finance is one hundred percent necessary, and is the future of personal finance.” https://cnb.cx/3POl3Wa #WomeninResearch #MRX #MarketResearch #PersonalFinance #FutureofMoney

On a mission to NORMALIZE women as INVESTORS. Fintech Founder| Speaker| Financial Educator| Board Member| DEI Advocate| Pitch Competition Winner🏆
Here is a picture of me being asked "why are you creating a money management app specifically for women?" My response.... The Worthonomics Company is more than just a business venture for us; it’s a mission rooted in empowerment and equality. Historically, women have been marginalized in financial discussions, often left out of the conversations and opportunities that pave the way to financial independence and success. The statistics speak volumes—on average, women earn just 70 cents for every dollar a man earns, and the gap is even wider for women of color. This systemic inequality not only impacts their immediate financial well-being but also their long-term economic stability and confidence. Our mission is to break these barriers by providing women with the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to take control of their financial futures. Society often tells women to save and cut back, while men are encouraged to invest and grow their wealth. This mindset often limits the financial potential of women, and we’re here to change that narrative. Our app is designed to educate, inspire, and empower women to become savvy investors and confident money managers. Through personalized financial strategies, educational resources, and a supportive community, we aim to normalize women as investors. We believe that every woman deserves the opportunity to achieve financial literacy and independence. By focusing on the unique challenges women face, particularly women of color, our app serves as a powerful tool for financial transformation. Our goal is to create a future where women are not only part of the financial conversation but are leading it. Special thanks to Clovia McIntosh, MBA for capturing this moment #womensupportingwomen #womeninfinance #womenintech #Worthonomics

Women investors are a growing force in the financial world and will be powerful drivers of advisors’ growth over the next decade as an estimated $30 trillion of baby boomer wealth transfers from spouses to their widows. Advisors want to capture this unparalleled opportunity with women investors but often find that engaging them and earning their trust isn’t as straightforward as expected. Many of the advisors I work with are asking: "How are women investors any different from my male clients?" "How can I engage women who aren't interested in their finances?“ "If a male client passes away, how should I approach his widow?“ Read the latest insight from my colleagues Jennifer Taboada and Katie on the BlackRock Business Consulting team to get the answers and learn how to engage women investors: https://1blk.co/3V3ulkh #financialadvisors #wealthmanagement #womenshistorymonth
