Very proud of the Recreation industry (which aquatics falls under) for tackling this ever-growing topic. With opportunities for hands-on work that includes meaningful interactions with others, as well as variety in learning opportunities, recreation roles definitely attract many neurodivergent people. Passionate about their careers as they may be, it doesn’t make their challenges any less difficult. Chances are, you already know someone who is considered neurodivergent—but it can be difficult to tell, as rather gifted neurodivergent individuals figure out ways to hide their “differences” in order to fit in.
