1995 AUDI RS2 £22,750 CURRENT BID 01:46:56 TODAY 12:20 PM CAR OVERVIEW 177,733 Miles Manual RHD Ragusa Green Black 2.2L VIN WACZZZ8CZSZ000876 This Audi 80 Avant RS2 is a well-maintained example of the cult high-performance estate car, presented in good cosmetic order. Under the bonnet is a 2.2-litre turbocharged five-cylinder engine, now producing up to 330bhp, with Quattro four-wheel drive via a six-speed manual transmission. As a genuine right-hand drive UK-market example, it is one of only 183 cars built. It is fresh from a cam belt replacement service carried out in March 2022 by an Audi specialist. The car has benefitted from a full underbody and engine bay restoration, and the turbocharger has been rebuilt.  EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES   The RS2 was the result of co-operation between Audi and Porsche, taking the 80 Avant model as the basis and developing it into a giant-killing estate car.  It was built at Porsche’s Rossle-Bau manufacturing facility in Zuffenhausen, with significant upgrades made to the familiar Audi engine, and with the braking and suspension systems enhanced with Porsche-designed components.  Fewer than 3,000 examples were delivered worldwide, and original right-hand drive UK market cars are very rare with only 183 ever produced. The RS2 was also the first model in Audi’s now legendary ‘RS’ performance line.  This car is finished in the handsome Ragusa Green, and rides on the original 17-inch Porsche ‘Cup’ alloy wheels, wrapped in Continental SportContact tyres. It has received an MTM remap to remove a factory immobiliser fault in October 2018, which resulted in an increase in power to 330bhp. The M2 CS was the first M2 to feature a carbon fibre roof and all cars benefitted from adaptive M suspension. 1992 MERCEDES-BENZ (W124) 500E €19,500 WINNING BID << serious good deal for an awesome car! 11/02/24 SOLD CAR OVERVIEW 243,915 Km (Indicated) Automatic LHD Pajett Red Metallic (587U) Cream Leather (275) 5.0L V8 This W124-generation Mercedes-Benz 500E is a useable example of the V8-powered ‘super saloon’, co-developed with Porsche during the late 1980s. Under the bonnet sits a 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8, producing around 326hp which drives the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. This example has been with its current owner for five years.  The odometer shows 243,915 kilometres from new, though this is not warranted.  EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES   With its engineering department occupied with the development of the new S-Class, in 1989, Mercedes-Benz commissioned Porsche to redesign the W124 chassis to fit the 5.0L ‘M119’ V8, and alter the suspension and drivetrain to accommodate. It was also assembled by Porsche at the ‘Reutter-Bau’ plant in Zuffenhausen, as its widened wings couldn’t fit through the W124 assembly line at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Sindelfingen. The vehicles were transported back and forth between ‘Reutter-Bau’ and Sindelfingen for assembly, painting, engine installation and final inspection, in a process which took 18 days per car, a nod to the model’s impressive levels of engineering. The 500E featured uprated SL braking components, including front 500 SL discs with four-piston callipers, as well as a 38mm wider track, 23mm lower profile, wider tyres, flared wings, side skirts and a front air dam. Inside, all 500Es are equipped with leather-trimmed heated seats, supplied by renowned racing seat manufacturer Recaro. This example is finished in Pajett Red metallic on the upper and lower body panels, with an attractive cream leather-trimmed interior complemented by elegant wood trims. Equipment includes an on-board computer, electric windows and mirrors, an electric tilt and slide sunroof, electrically adjustable steering column and rear electric roller blind, electrically operated heated front seats with two-position memory, cruise control, dual-zone temperature control, an outside temperature display, and a heated rear screen.
